Well, while I love Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, I prefer most of the characters to be as similar to the comics as they can, at least most of the time. Besides, I think that Benedict Cumberbatch would be an awesome Doctor Strange, I can't think of anyone I'd rather have play the character. Hopefully he gets the role.

I would like to see Tilda Swinton as Strange. I doubt it would happen but that type of acting is right up her alley.

Tilda Swenson could be Morganna Le Fey, if they use her as Dr. Strange's enemy, or even better as Umar.

Since Fury was based on a badass movie star, it made sense to upgrade which badass movie star he was.

If you get the chance read Garth Ennis' run of The Punisher. Old school (white) Nick Fury has a few cameos and this being the R rated version of Punisher Fury is even more hardcore and badass.

Nick Fury has actually looked like Samuel L. Jackson since 2002, before he had signed on to play the role in any films.

In the Ultimates universe, not the mainstream one.

Yep, and I was aware of that. Technically, there is also a Nick Fury (Nick Fury, jr actually, he's the son of the original) that looks like Sam Jackson in the normal Marvel universe (Earth-616) too. But, he's kind of bland and only exists because Marvel likes to randomly add stuff from the movies to the comics for no real reason.

Speculation on what happens today? Saw a couple of interesting tweets:

Steven Weintraub ‏@colliderfrosty 14h14 hours ago can't say why because I won't spoil it, but I'm now a lot more excited for tomorrow's Marvel event. Think it's going to be a fun morning.

Disney is providing Press with Wifi at the Marvel event (not a norm for the movie theatre setting), seems to suggest news will be breaking.

Is it just me or does it seem kind of a stretch that after the international agency that went around recruiting super humans was compromised by a terrorist organization bent on world domination, half the planets super heroes aren't suspicious that one or more governments that were also compromised by said terrorist organization suddenly start doing the same thing.

Not to mention making it a Captain America film kind of kills the moral ambiguity seeing as Rogers is protagonist so the audience is usually expected to side with him in these kinds of things. Especially in the sequel to "large international government agency is actually being run by fascist terrorists planing to kill thousands to take over the world" movie.
