Things that frustrate us all

People accuse moderators of racism?

I really don't pay enough attention to what goes on.

Well, I don't know about 'people,' but different posters are treated differently on Trektoday be it because they are a writer for Trek books, someone who worked on Trek, etc. (In my case, it was due to my racial background, especially since I had to get a random paragraph from one moderator - older white guy from a predominantly white suburb in Southern California - on how much racism he was awash in to justify his giving me an infraction...) I was also expecting him to say, "I have black friends."

Anywho, I think you have to pay more attention to those signature links below every post, Captain. ;)

I know you aren't the only one talking about it, but you did bring it up first, and this is essentially just rehashing the content of your closed MA thread in Miscellaneous, which is not appropriate. If you have further issues you should take it up with the author and the moderator in question again via PM or with T'Bonz. I know this is a thread about expressing frustrations, but there is a specific course of action for dealing with board policy or personal issues, and this isn't it.

Thank you for your reply, I am Groot. As you are aware I did have a problem with getting an actual reply from the moderator in question. And T'Bonz, unfortunately, wasn't too polite when I sought clarification on the matter in the Miscellaneous section on why I was specifically racially profiled.

Interestingly, I didn't expect it - the conversation - was going to get this far in this particular thread. I just wanted to 'express' my frustration as an African American poster on this site, not expecting the attention it would get. (Although, I would think that moderators would be receptive to criticism rather than try to get away from it. Unless, I'm understanding that you are suggesting another way to go about giving criticism). In any event, I will follow your 'moderation' suggestion sometime this week with the individuals you pointed out.

When I started my internet career there weren't that many smilies yet and we had to make do with the ASCII characters. Back then we used to write hugs like this:
{Rainbow Dash} (or [Rainbow Dash] for a more masculine hug and a / would be a clap on the back.

Being so broke for 2 weeks that you don't even have enough money for public transit to even go to a food bank is frustrating.
Been there myself as a student (only we didn't have food banks back then). Did you get overweight too, afterwards? Seems that once you experienced starvation, the body stores every single calory in case it happens again.
That you got turned away sucks! Chivalry is all good and nice but a man feels hunger just as badly as a woman. They should have let the children and the very sick go first and give them a full ration and then distribute the rest among all healthy adults evenly.

My current frustration is the folks that deem going 5 mph. under the posted speed limit is just fine. My commute is long enough, don't need your put-putting to add to it.... [ugh!]

I sorta frustrate myself without knowing it.. sorta.. like waiting for the coin to settle down.. the aaa unresolved tension effect is kinda frustrating mmm yep..

or like not knowing if I posted this here yesterday or not./??

Frustration today, due to the weather, is the flies that constant buzz around my head at my 'day job'....and into my ear. (Why is it they have a fixation on my ear?)

I set up a fly trap nearby to hopefully catch them over time.

To Dr. Sevrin/Melakon, I paraphrase Tegan Jovanka:
"Brave heart."

I've also been there, but you just have to stay strong.

That's neat. I do it because it reminds me of BBCode. Some people use asterisks, but I prefer brackets.

Direct deposit is scheduled to hit the bank in a few hours, so I should be calmed down tomorrow. September was just a tighter month all around than I expected because the overdraft caught me unawares, being unsure of the new checks fee. I'd even ordered fewer checks than usual to try to reduce it. I knew I was going to have problems as early as 5 September.

Update: Money's arrived, did transfers so savings and credit card have money again, but nothing else is paid yet. October is going to be tight too.

To be fair part of that might be down to inaccuracies in each cars Speedometer. But I sort of know what you mean getting stuck behind someone who is going just slow enough to be annoying but just fast enough to make overtaking difficult.

And {{{Rainbow Dash}}} would be a really big, long hug.
