God I hope so. Heaven forbid they introduce a new character!!
I just want to point out the the final scene with Missy in that long corridor that curves up feels like it is the interior of one of those big circular space stations that use centrifugal force to generate gravity. Maybe the name Nethersphere is literal, that it IS a huge spherical space station.
I pray Missy isn't a female Master, it'd be pointless. The Rani was created for the purpose of being a female timelord antagonist, what's the point of making the Master female? And that would mean my worst fears could become true one day: a female doctor. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, you may watch it, and not like the dynamic they work with, with a female Doctor, but, to automatically dismiss it, without waiting to see where they go with it...
My favorite response to a female Doctor is, "I would watch it if the writing is good." Meaning, good writing isn't all that important or they would still watch even if the writing is bad, as long as it was a male Doctor.
No, I take that to mean that if they change the doctor into a female and 1, the writers still write as if the Doctor is male (not changing their perspective) or 2, if they continuously point out the Doctor is now a female, that would make a difference.

Well I'd certainly write in. I'd watch like the premiere episode and unless it was on par with the best episodes ever I'd be tempted to stop watching it. If a female was cast I'd probably start an online petition or something.
I just don't think there's a need for it, if they want a female protagonist then do a spin off with Romana or something. Plus I'm pretty sure most of the writers would screw it up by using tiresome tansgender jokes and such.
And I'm not in a minority here, in fact this seems to be the only place where the majority of people would welcome an female doctor. Most people I know would strongly oppose a female doctor, both males and females.
