2014 MLB Season: How Many Pitchers Will Die For Our Sins?

^ Who else could it possibly be? ;)

Some say it would be disrespectful to Jeter. I say, nay-nay. Think of all the times they put Jeter at DH and had somebody else at SS. This is no different.

Jeter has been a defensive liability for a decade and the Yankees should have made him move to third when they acquired Rodriguez.

So, the Pirates are in post season now. Great, that's two post season berth celebrations in the Braves Visitor's clubhouse in the past week.

Unless something turns around real fast, and some other teams do really bad, I don't think the Mariners will see the post season. :scream:

OK. I'm ready to speak.

Fredi Gonzalez is the winningest manager in the NL since taking over the Braves job. Frank Wren has managed to get some great players to stay, but the BJ Upton, Kenshin Kawakami, and Dan Uggla contracts did him in. Give players all the money and they immediately stop giving a shit about performance.

The southeast idolizes Bobby Cox like he's some kind of deity. They forget that he lost in the first round of the postseason from 2002-2005 and then missed the postseason from 2006-2009, then got destroyed in the first round again in 2010. Then he handpicked Fredi to be the manager when he retired. Yet, the organization and the fanbase still believes that Bobby Cox can do no wrong. He doesn't deserve to be on this committee to search for the next GM. They need to keep him as a "special assistant" and go out there and find someone who isn't going to be buddy-buddy with the players and operate on a system where you start because you're making the most money and you get to be in the bullpen because you speak Spanish.

There's also the whole "beat the shit out of his wife" thing that people conveniently overlook.

Weather not looking good for NYC tomorrow (in fact, tonight's Mets/Nats game has already been postponed). So it looks like Jeter's final game may be postponed until next Monday.

^ I have no idea what's going to happen...I don't even know if he'll be in the lineup. I thought he would be, but my dad just told me that they're sitting him out for the last game.

And yes, even I think they're overdoing it.

He deserves to be on the field and in the lineup for his last game. He has earned that much.

Can't imagine they won't. And would expect that they'll pull him off the field during a defensive inning, so he can have a chance to walk off the field as opposed to just not going up to bat. And doing it before the end of puts the spotlight on him, so have to figure that's the plan...

They should just bronze him and put him at his shortstop position at Yankee Stadium and force the players to play around him. Its what he would've wanted.

Go A's
