Favorite mind meld?

What a great thread. I think most of the best ones have been mentioned. I forgot how big a part of Trek it really is.

I've got to give top marks to ST09 followed by ST3 then STID. Or is it the whale, what about TMP? Damn...

There have been some great Mind Meld scenes but I want to give Star Trek: Voyager some love, so:

Tuvok's Mind Meld with Lon Suder. It was basically the heart of that episode, and it was a great episode too.

Yes indeed!!!! While I wouldn't likely call it my favorite meld right off the top, I would also point to Random Thoughts. The graphic enhancement of Tuvok's connection with Guill is kind of like a Technicolor version of a meld or, perhaps more accurately, Trek's recreation of a mindscape from Natural Born Killers!!!

Pissed-off Spock and Valeris in TUC. That scene is pretty intense, Nimoy and Kim Cattrall certainly earned their salary that day.

Voyager's "Flashback".

That scene where Tuvok brings Captain Sulu some tea and Janeway says "You've never brought me tea.."

Spock Prime and Nu Kirk fro, Star Trek 2009. the great thing about this mind meld is that we could not really here what Spock Prime was saying but the images he was showing Jim told the full story if what Spock was saying but we the audience could not hear properly.

Spock / V'ger hasn't been mentioned yet, IIRC. Not my favorite, but it deserves mention.

Two from TAS are significant for various reasons:
- Spock / the planet-eater cloud
- the giant Spock clone / Spock

Anybody mention Spock / Christine in "Return to Tomorrow"?

I really like the time when Spock melds with himself and then falls flat on the floor.

In what episode? I'm curious.
I think that's meant as a joke . . . :p

Yeah, I thought he was joking too, perhaps in reference to this bit from "By Any Other Name":

KIRK: Vulcans have the ability to place themselves in a kind of trance, complete relaxation of every part of the mind and body.
SPOCK: We find it more restful to the body than your so-called vacation.
KIRK: Can you do it now and come out of it in the sickbay, say in half an hour?
SPOCK: It will take me a moment to prepare.
KIRK: Go ahead.
(Spock touches his forehead, straightens up, then falls gently into McCoy and Kirk's arms.)
MCCOY: Jim, his heartbeat really is slow. His pulse is practically non-existent.

Forgive my immaturity, but I just saw the Spock-Van Gelder mind meld and I'll be darned if parts of it don't look a little erotic.

^ Well, by definition, all mind melds do have a very intimate aspect to them. So it's almost unavoidable that it should look that way.
