Sounds much like Star Trek: The Beginning from Rick Berman and Eric Jendresen. It was pitched as a movie prior to JJ Abrams being hired.

Sounds like someone is having fun at your expense. CBS would have no reason to share their plans on an unannounced project with a Facebook group.

This sounds suspiciously similar to the "Save Enterprise Campaign," or whatever it was called, in which fans sent money to some dude who claimed to "in talks" with Paramount.

I guest that you work for CBS?

Maybe they are or maybe they're not? Or maybe I have miss read in what they have posted.
But according to them, but not directly from them. They give the hint that CBS is in control of that Facebook page. Even though they're not directly in control. Are telling them of what they can said, do or post on their Facebook page. But if a recall correctly? Two of the Administers had work with Paramount on Star Trek in the past.

No. The question is whether yenny works for CBS:

I'll take a wild guess and say that yenny does not work for CBS.

No matter how much CBS may not want to do this now, in the long-run I see this as an inevitability. There are too many franchises that are weaker than Trek ever was at its lowest point that are going into development. There's no way it will be allowed to lay fallow forever on TV.

I'm not the one posting unsubstantiated rumors presented as facts about what CBS is planning to do.

Unless, of course, Star Trek ends up being more lucrative as a film franchise than a television one.

After all, Mission: Impossible was a television franchise until 1996. Four movies in (with a fifth currently filming), there isn't a lot of talk about a television revival, despite the series (and its two season spin-off) running a total of nine years on television before the Tom Cruise version was released.

See, here's the thing (and I can't believe I'm wasting my time with this, but anyway...), over the years, there have been many and more attempts on this board, by individuals long forgotten, who have posted unsubstantiated rumors about new Trek series, movies, etc., claiming to have "inside knowledge" of the same without any single shred of proof, or links, or anything. Every single instance that I'm aware of that this happened, they were unequivocally proven wrong by the passage of time and their rumors never having been realized. Your claim smacks of that. You were asked for proof by many, including myself, to which your response has been evasive and dodgy. We can only assume you're just another troll trying to take the piss on a fan-base eager to see more Trek. Others see that as well and that offends us and instantly pushes us into a suspicious posture. If, on the absurdly slim chance you're actually telling the truth, let me be the first to apologize in advance, as you are the victim of a long line of wolf-criers and harbingers of broken promises.

However, unlike the poor feckless Charlie Brown, many of us refuse to try to kick Lucy's football any more.

^I don't think yenny is a troll. Based on this and past posts of his, I think he is just misinformed.

Ok, I can buy that. But to be fair, the authoritative and absolutist tone of his initial post was initially one of someone "in the know" who possessed facts that nobody else did, ostensibly. He did start sliding into admitting the possibility of mis-reading what he read, I'll grant him that, but he kind-of kept defending it, though. It's all very odd.

I'm not misinformed. I just misunderstood the statement they had posted.

I went ahead and tell them what I told y'all and here is what they told me.

Star Trek Enterprise Season 5 - Netflix campaign that would be because they haven't even started doing anything, we're all still in the proposal stages, we're asking you what you would accept when we make our proposal.. please do not jump the gun. Right now everything is in proposal land, CBS was quite clear NOTHING new will be worked on, announced, or even considered until Q12015, that's not "CBS is working ona miniseries about X" please note that nowhere did we say they were actively working on it, only that it was one of the proposals we were considering...

The above statement by the ENT Netflix campaign is completely different than what you wrote, about CBS working on four shows. So yeah, you were misinformed.

I just read one of the posts and it made me laugh:

CBS doesn't care about negative comments, that is part of being in the entertainment business. CBS cares if they can create a financially viable product.

^^^ Yeah, I find it hard to believe that anyone at CBS is "insulted and offended" at anything in this regard from a business POV.

Whatever CBS's cut is for nuTrek, I'm sure they are insulted and offended all the way to the bank, as they say.

I just don't get what CBS would think the financial gain for bringing back Enterprise would be? It isn't like the show took off after cancellation like TOS did.

I don't hate the show but it was cancelled with less than two million viewers a week, sold poorly on Blu-ray from what I hear and it had zero syndication market. Even from a Netflix perspective it doesn't make much sense as it is dead last in number of ratings with 979,823 (TNG has 2.7 million, TOS 1.9 million, VOY 1.4 million, DS9 989,119).

I only wish they had gotten one more season. Yeah, the ratings sucked, but if anyone could have turned it around it would have been Manny Coto.

It's incredibly tough to turn ratings around once the public has sampled and rejected something or if they have just moved on. I liked Coto's work and a fifth season would've been cool but I don't believe the ratings would've went any higher and CBS/CW saw that. They would've been flushing money at that point.

I'd rather they put time and effort into a new series if CBS has the itch to spend some money on Star Trek. Unless they're planning a Kirk/Spock series going backwards is a big mistake, in my opinion. Create all new characters in an all-new universe where anything can happen. Where they can reshuffle the deck.
