I'm really not surprised. IM3 wasn't very good. And there isn't anywhere to go with the character. Hopefully Cheadle will at least get a fair amount of screen time in AoU, at least.
Well, it's not surprising because there's almost no room until Phase 4 anyway. In addition, he's the most expensive actor Marvel has. Given this, they're happy to have him in Avengers films without needing to have him go do his own thing.
Is he signed on for Avengers III? I mean, if Marvel wants to starting brining others in, they may be content with Evans, Ruffalo, and Johansson or Hemsworth, with whomever else they bring in.
I thought it was the worst of the three. The returns were huge, though.
^ Yeah, subjective opinions of some fans probably aren't going to change much. Financial returns were quite high, which is why it'll always be a consideration for Marvel, but they have a lot of plans and Iron Man would mostly get in the way of those plans.

IronMan 1- Amazing and lots of laughs
IronMan 2- overshadowed by "Avenger's" elements. Weak villains and actions scenes
IronMan 3- Mandarin who's not Mandarin and barely any IronMan in it.
So an IronMan 4 would be a financial success but probably even spottier than the previous movies.
Yes, IM1>IM2>IM3. But for the record, I thought Ben Kingsley's Mandarin was one of the best parts of IM3. And, IM2 had weak action scenes? Really?

Like Wolverine in the X-Men movies, Iron Man will be the main character and star of Avengers 2 & 3 just like in 1 anyway, so fans hardly need to worry.

When the picture was first posted, the person said "The Vision revealed in a promo picture." The asian guy was standing in front of the picture. He was not a part of the promo picture. So when you came by with your "joke." People understandably were left scratching their heads.

Also, the joke came after a picture of concept art had been added, which is why I was confused, because I thought it was referencing the art.
For me, it's IM1, IM3 and then IM2.
I liked the angst aspects of Tony's character in 3 and how he became to dependend on the suite, feeling that it was the only thing that could keep his loved ones save, hence the many, many different versions of the suite, in case of any kind of emergency. In the end, he realized that the suite isn't Iron Man, he is. And that even without the suite, he could still keep people save. It had become his crutch, and that's why he symbolically blew them all up, to prove to himself and Pepper that he doesn't need them.

I think Iron Man 3 improves a lot on repeated viewings. I even have come to appreciate the Mandarin/Trevor twist (of course, I had to get over my nerd-rage first).
Ben Kingsley recently said in an interview, that he'd love to go back to the MCU, and play Trevor again, but have it revealed that perhaps the Mandarin IS real, and that Trevor was a ploy to distract people, a sort of 'hidden in plain sight' thing.
That sounds very Kaiser Soze.
