    Thank you!

As I said, I finished the first season and really enjoyed it, but season two is getting to me. The characters I enjoyed before are painfully annoying now. Reed went from whiney to likable and back. And what is with Archer? I was embarrassed for both him and Bakula in that episode. I just started The Seventh, and got disgusted and quit. I know the Vulcans have been a pain in the ass but why is everyone taking T'Pol's assignment so personally? And what's up with Archer's attitude when T'Pol comes to his quarters? I'm really disappointed right now, especially since the Romulans have been introduced.

I was born at the end of the TOS original run. I have seen TNG, DS9 and VOY in first run. I recently watched TAS. I watched a few ENT when it was first run. Hated it. Gave it a try in 2010 and it has become my favorite Trek. I know people don't agree with me, I get "teased" because it's my favorite.

Still is. I don't know what it is. I just do. I love Trip. The chemistry of him with Reed, and with Archer. And T'Pol. Archer and T'Pol. And Phlox with them both. It's a good show.

Every Trek had its bad episodes. But with ENT I think it was a bit too much Trek at once, network that didn't care, and my issue was I didn't like the idea of prequel.

    But it is my favorite.

Yes, Enterprise is my favorite Star Trek series. I became a Star Trek Fan 21 years ago with TNG but after so many years of 24th centruy trek (especially VOY) I was very excited when Enterprise aired. Despite some critics I think Enterprise feels like a fresh start into a very interessting era of exploration with likeable characters who are like you and me. Not the natural born-heroes or spacefaring aristrocrats who regulary express their aversion against their own audience. ;)

With Enterprise I also started to appreciate TOS much more.

I grew up watching the original on an old black and white TV my family had. Over the years I have seen many new series try to capture that fire and I think ENT does it best. As mentioned- TNG was stiff and preachy, DS9 had mostly attitude (until the Dominion War) and VOY was frustrating, having a great concept and turning into TNG/Lite. All shows had great moments and moments of stupidity, but ENT for the most part had the better percentage of good to bad in the series coming afterward.

    TOS-R
    ENT
    TAS
    TNG
    DS9
    VOY

(I list TOS-R because of the two versions, given a choice, it the one I like to watch more.)

ENT is somewhere near the bottom with VOY for me. TOS is top, with DS9 and TNG fighting it out for second place - DS9 grew on me as it went on, but TNG was on when I got home from secondary school, so I have a soft spot for it. Just for completeness I usually lump TAS on then end of TOS.

ENT was ok, but never anything more. I wanted to love it, but it never really gave me a reason to. Season one was alright, but like DS9, a bit shakey and unsure of itself. The prequel premise was always a tricky one and it did seem like a lot of people were waiting to jump on it for any violation perceived or real. Season two got a bit better, but had a couple of real stinkers.

The Xindi arc of season three just left me cold. I couldn't get into it, I didn't enjoy it and it all just felt like a sort of response to the war on terror. Credit though to the writers for trying to give the core three more depth, although their efforts made me dislike Archer even more than before (he was my least favourite of the cast, and I have never been able to tell if it was the charachter as written or Bakula I disliked). The ending of the Temporal Cold War with the big lizard aliens with the time tunnel? Right up there with 11:59, Threashold, The Alternative Factor, These are the Voyages and Shades of Grey for me as worst Trek ever.

Season four was an improvement, but too late. It was also indulgent, but after what had come before I didn't care and thought it a vast improvement.

Overall I would give ENT a passing mark, but scraping through.

If the entire show was like S4 it might be way higher on my list, but over half of the first 2 1/2 seasons are unwatchable to me.

    Hey, me too!

ENT is my favourite Trek series. Here are some reasons:

It might sound shallow, but one reason is that it's the best looking series. You can see things gradually improving through the previous years, but ENT was the first show that looked cinematic. (Admittedly some of the CGI is dire, but not bad for a TV show from the early 00s.)

ENT has the most natural dialog and least stagy acting. I like Patrick Stewart, but I think his Shakespearean enunciation led to a feeling amongst writers that all Trek dialog had to be grandiose, and it took a while to shake that off.

ENT is the most swashbuckling Trek since TOS! Admittedly, I was not hugely impressed when I first saw TOS in the late 70s - Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica were better looking and much more action-focused - but in retrospect the combination of utopian pacificism and macho belligerence made a uniquely spicy stew. It was refreshing to see another science fiction show with a healthy helping of derring do.

Admittedly ENT is hardly perfect: The first two seasons in particular are schizophrenic in their oscillation between good and awful (even within the same episode). But all the Treks include bad episodes and bad acting, and ENT improved greatly as it went on.

The fact that it was cut short at four seasons is also to be lamented. On the other hand, that makes ENT the cheapest series to buy. ;)

ENT is not my favourite Trek series, but I do like all of the shows, for different reasons. TOS or DS9 are probably my favourites.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Enterprise , despite a few good outings, were mostly misfires. Seasons 3 and 4, thankfully, were a big improvement. That is the kind of stuff we should have been getting from the outset.

The first 'new' Trek ,which was being produced, when I was getting into the franchise, was TNG season 7. I watched TNG S7 live, firsthand. I started watching the show when I was 12 in '94. I grew up with DS9 and VOY being produced, and was there for the entirety of ENT's first run. I remember being a bit disappointed in ENT at the time. It's grown on me, but I remember thinking at the time how much better seasons 3 and 4 were. I was angry when it was cancelled, because there was so much potential still there. It was just starting to get good.

Ditto. TOS was my favorite but Enterprise took over, with TOS now a very close second.

Enterprise is actually my third favorite behind TOS and TAS.

    My order would be

    TOS
    TAS
    Enterprise
    TNG
    Voyager/DS9 (pretty much tie here)

Seasons 3 and 4 are my favorite of all Trek. Seasons 1 and 2 of Enterprise along with Season 1 of TNG are my least favorite because of so many bad episodes. That puts ENT in the middle for me.
