    I love Spiderman.

He's my favorite superhero tied with Superman.

I have fond memories of watching the live action Nicholas Hammond Spiderman TV show as well as Spidey cartoons with my grandfather, who was a Spiderman fan himself or at least he made it seem he was, by watching these with me. I can still remember the Spiderman wallet he gave me when I was in 1st grade. (Sadly, he didn't live to see the 2002 film when cancer suddenly and out of nowhere got to him back in 1999).

    Anyway, I love the character.

But I lost a bit of interest after they replaced Tobey Mcguire.

I loved the first two Spiderman movies. The third one definitely had story problems and some of its ideas were a definite misfire. But I was hoping they could bounce back with a fourth film.

Especially after they developed the background characters a bit, and was rather looking forward to seeing the Lizard with the established actors.

But when they replaced McGuire, I lost interest but I still decided to check out the reboot even though I thought it was WAY TOO SOON to reboot the franchise and thought Raimi and McGuire should get another shot.

The only thing I can remember is the web-swinging scenes were MUCH IMPROVED, but I definitely wasn't all that excited by the film. The actors were fine, but the act of rebooting kinda turned me off.

I didn't see Amazing Spiderman 2, and still haven't. I'll probably give it a watch soon just to see.

I'm guessing I'm not the only who feels that way since the Spidey reboots seem to be making significantly less money than the Raimi-McGuire series.

Too bad that Spiderman 3 kinda screwed things up. Apparently, they forced Venom into the film and it kinda shows since the Sandman/Hobgoblin portions of the film, as I recall, were much better than the Venom portions. They should've been patient and waited until Spiderman 4 to introduce Venom.

You really can't compare Marvel movies featuring second-tier characters released in November and April, respectively, with a Superman movie released in June. Superman would always have a bigger box office than Thor and Captain America, simply because it's a Superman movie.

I like villains, i cannot wait for it, on the other hand i feel there are too many big budget superhero movies out there sucking away a lot of resources.

It's funny - I used to love Spiderman as a kid, too, but for me it was the act of hiring McGuire in the first place that really turned me off. I never believed him in the role, not for a nanosecond. I only really started getting interested when they rebooted. Unfortunately, while I love the new actors, the writing remains rather spotty. I figured ASM mainly suffered from redoing the origin story, although the Lizard (one of my favorite villains) was a bit of a disappointment as well, and that it would only get better from there. I enjoyed ASM2, but it hasn't really gotten better. Still an incredible amount of attention on Peter breaking up and getting back together with people (does his love life really have to be this chaotic in *every* story?), and all this extra stuff about Peter's parents is really getting in the way of good storytelling. I was pleasantly surprised by the Green Goblin - they really managed to creep me out in a way that I didn't think they'd ever even attempt - but Electro was way too stereotypical. The nice simpleton who gets stomped on by the world and is easily manipulated - right down to giving Jamie Foxx a 'nerdy' wet combover. I mean, seriously? Rhino was also a touch too far on the stereotypical side, and although I applaud them for looking for ways to include him without dressing him up in a skintight Rhinocerous costume, that battlesuit still didn't look very good. (Also, who just randomly designs a giant battlesuit to look like a rhino?) It does give me pause in regards to what we might be able to expect from the Sinister Six.

Overall, though, the main problem of ASM2 wasn't any of the individual stuff, it was the fact that it all came together at once. They tried to shove too much into the movie and it came off seriously disjointed. A mistake they've already made once before with Spiderman 3. Hopefully, they actually learn from it this time, because if not they seriously could kill the Spiderman franchise for a decade or two.

Isn't it funny how we can all look at the same scenario and come away feeling different things?

I remember when Tobey McGuire was first cast as Spiderman, but I don't think I had ever seen him in a movie, so I didn't have an opinion on his casting.

    Just my two cents:

The only CBMs that I really love are TDK trilogy. They have depth while having a sense of realism about them. If no other CBMs ever existed, I'd be okay as long as I've got TDK.

But since there are others, I am otherwise lukewarm on the whole genre. Marvels films (the ones I've seen at least) are well made and entertaining, but they felt empty to me. No substance. But admittedly I've only seen The Avengers and Iron Man. I liked them but don't feel compelled to watch them again anytime soon.

As far as MOS, I thought it was alright but mourned what might have been. The general idea I thought was good but lacked in execution. Hopefully BvS makes up for it.

Saw only XMen 1 and Spider-man 1. I liked them too but not enough to watch the sequels.
I liked Watchmen and both Hulk movies (even the Ang Lee one) but hated Fantastic 4.
Don't have much interest in Thor but I'd like to catch both CAs.
Guardians of the Galaxy? I'll wait to watch it at home.

So am I crazy? Am I missing something? Sorry but to me it's all about TDK trilogy. It just felt less comic-booky, yet very much in the spirit of the source material. Of course, I'm biased as Batman was the only comic I read years ago.

Oh, I misread the thread title. You want to know about Superhero moves! Spider-Man has some good moves, the way he dodges bullets. I like Cap's moves with his shield as well. Batman has some good move with his batarang.;)

It's pretty frakking funny. Like listening to a Linkara video. Annoying voice and bias opinions presented as facts.

Dodge bullets? HA! A kewler move is to tank them in defiance of your enemy. A move Superman and Thor have perfected

I watched several more of this guy's reviews (STID, Thor TDW, Iron Man 2, The Hobbit) man this guy is such a troll. But you know, the internet gives everyone a forum to voice their opinion. I don't need him to tell me mine. Although like Redlettermedia, he is amusing to listen to.

yes, he's kind of a troll and a douche, with no real style. I'll grant you that. but no one has actually talked about the points he made about Marvel. I find that most telling...
