The Sliders pilot is excellent, which I attribute in no small part to John Landis' involvement, but he did not stay and those that would step up the ranks as the purse strings tightened were just awful.
Season one is ten episodes, continuing on after that is a horrible idea, but i doubt you could stop yourself.
Who do you like better Fred or Illyria?

A fast-food restaurant specializing in yummy burgers and the most amazing ice cream concoctions. The alternate universe where Voyager ended up there would have been lots of fun - a lot better food than leola root, at least.
Sliders? YES. But only as long as John Rhys-Davies is in the cast. After that, it's basically crap.
I saw some of that series a long long time ago. I remember the old bearded scientist dying of...something. I don't remember what. I remember that I liked the idea (parallel realities of what ifs. What if Hitler had invaded the USA, what if the dinosaurs didn't die off...) at the start but was disappointed by some of the episodes and then I was less and less enthusiast about watching it, until I stopped altogether. Maybe I should give it another chance.
I think it was season 4, half the scripts were just rehashes of horror movies from the 70s.
The only alternate reality stuff involved was that specific monsters now somehow existed.
Although if they make the movie, maybe you should watch all of it?

I gave up after episode 4.
It seems like a good made for TV movie stretched out into a tedious TV series. Are they even ending it in one season or are they going to leave it open in case it gets renewed next summer?

Part 2 was really good. Can someone explain what the Omega Directive is? A bunch of molecules that has the potential to destroy the galaxy? Is that right? Regarding Demon, I felt the title was misleading. I thought the planet would have turned the crew into actual demons. A bit disappointing.

Omega is an unstable type of molecule that can be used as a powersource. A small chain of Omega Molecules can power a civilization. If a single molecule explodes, it shreds subspace for hundreds of light years making warp travel impossible. A large enough cache of Omega molecules (which isn't that large a number) breaking down and exploding will make warp travel impossible in the entire Galaxy.
Stabilizing Omega is almost impossible, so trying to stabilize Omega, or use Omega is a big no-no, and there is a rule about it more important and more binding than the Prime Directive, since the end of warp travel for everyone is un####ing-thinkable.
