Well, I never liked VOYAGER very much (sorry). But I'm willing to give it a second chance. Can you guys, please, tell me what are the BEST episodes from the series? Thanks in advance.
This is not how you treat a lady on a first date. (Teacake means start with the last episode of season 3, but that's only an issue if you're paying hundreds of dollars for dvd boxsets and not streaming from netflx.)
I'd probably start with season one's best effort "Cathexis", followed by memorable episodes like "Favorite Son", "Tattoo", "The Fight" and "Fury". And don't forget the season two gem "Threshold"; definitely Voyager's best episode, if you ask me.
Seriously, though, my personal favorites and must-see-can't-miss-episodes are these: "Caretaker" "Jetrel" "Projections" "Meld" "The Thaw" "Warlord" "Before and After" "Year of Hell" "Living Witness" "Night"
You know, the sad thing is, I'm one of those fans who can find something to like (or love) even in those clunkers. Something must be terribly wrong with me.
LOL you're saying that to me, defender of Threshold?! There is very little I don't like. Not a fan of any boxing eps ever, can't squeeze enough cheese into it to get over that. I always enjoyed the idea behind Favorite Son. And Guy is correct, start with the last ep of Season 3 and proceed on into Season 4.
Remember when you were a child and you would eat the meat on your dinner plate first, and then just be left with an endless vista of zucchini and liver beans? How many hours did you spend arms folded with your grumpy face out in force, not allowed to leave the table until you had licked those war crimes excuses for vegetables clean off your plate?
I always ate the bad stuff first, very quickly, so I could enjoy the rest of it. But I also pretty much liked everything so the bad stuff was the not-fantastic stuff rather than the hated stuff. But I was all about doing the math so I never wanted to be spend more time doing the less fun stuff than necessary. Still don't understand why people love The Thaw though. I love Voyager and really enjoy watching nearly all of its episodes...but ughhh I wish "Threshold" never happened. So weird... I do not believe that Kathryn Janeway would ever have Tom Paris's reptilian babies ...even if they weren't in their right minds and didn't remember much of it... just imagining that... Even though the series did get a lot better starting with Season 4, it's always my opinion that to appreciate the show to the fullest, I would watch them all in sequence from first ep to last ep. But, that's just me~
Q2 is one of those episodes that is awesome less for sci-fi factors but moreso because it just had me laughing out loud the whole time. Love the Q episodes...especially when he tries to mate with Janeway and she just rejects him over and over again until she finds out his true motives.
That episode is not my favorite by any means, but I am a Michael McKean fan (he played the clown)...so I can't hate on it. :P
And then after the babies found them again via the Federations Interspecies Adoption Registry Janeway and Paris were forced to put up a good front and do some parenting. Because they are role models and role models don't leave their children in the mud when they could be taking them to fairgrounds instead.
I tell you I cry every time I watch this: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpJ6dVMYuzc[/yt] We have to move past the mockery and see this as a great human interest story.
Scorey, she's made a ton of fantastic VOY vids, lots of J/C too. And that reminds me, a favorite ep that the OP should watch is Counterpoint. Don't watch this vid of it though OP as you may get spoiled (by scorey) [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4JJ_Kxickk[/yt] We have an entire thread around here dedicated to Counterpoint vids.
