Zoë Saldana May Be The New Uhura

Good choice! I've had the hots for her ever since Center Stage.

She was also Nick Cannon's love interest in Drumline.

 

I like it. Someone on trekmovie photo-whatevered her into the TOS Uhura uniform as a headshot and I was hooked.

 

Yeah, good chioce, but to be fair we all know the only casting that really matters is Kirk, Spock and McCoy, and they seem to have the first of those three correct so far.

I can feel a TV series with this cast if the film is a hit.

I've never heard of her, but the clips convey an approachability similar to Nichelle's. Though I tend to agree with Temis that she could stand a few more calories per day, she's still smokin' hot, as Uhura should be!

Yea, let's not get into "paper bag" racism here. The wrong shade of brown? sheesh. Not accusing anyone, but some of us are aware of this brand of discrimination, subtle though it is.

And she's great, look at those big brown eyes. My only question... and no one has brought this up yet... is can she sing?

 

And here's where the thread derails.

I suggest you watch Spike Lee's "School Daze." They've been playing it on TV One. That's a black themed cable channel.

 

Lighting, makeup, and film shows great variation in anyone's skin color.

Not to mention tanning. Blacks tan and get sunburn too. Geesh. Somebody needs a muffin.
