Ziyal is HOME

Thanks, you two. I have mixed feelings. As much as I want to get the thing over with, right now I'm preoccupied w/ getting my leg to heal, so I'm mostly okay w/ the postponement.

Well, it's good to look at the bright side. Those attorneys need better time management skills, though.

^ We're talking about other trials that they're involved in. The attorneys have only so much control (in other words, not much) over that.

Well...I'm glad there's at least some sort of legitimate upside.

I wonder, do your kitties recognize the need to be supportive of you? I know that for the longest time, before I was diagnosed with acid reflux, I used to get these horrendous stomachaches, and I would also feel bad after almost every meal. My cat would actually jump up on my stomach after lunch almost every day, when it was at its worst, because for some reason that made my stomach feel better, at least to the point where I could function. (There's some scientists who think cat purring has physical as well as emotional effects--who knows...) Maybe your cats can help at least emotionally, to make your body stronger--but who knows, maybe they can do even more. :D

^ Well, mine help emotionally just by their presence, but, no, I've never seen any evidence that they are aware of my needing support. That's a really cool story about yours, though.

That being there is big. Cats don't ask questions, after all--their world is so simple: scratch me and I'll purr for you. Sometimes that's the best thing possible.

And my cat is just weird...what can I say?

Also--and I don't know if this has anything to do with it--she's had stomach problems since she was a kitten and has always required a lot of extra care for that. You don't think it's possible that meant she understood what I was going through?

Oh, and here's something for you...these kitties are closet geeks. Don't worry, the clumsy one lands on his feet.

Note the music at the end of this video...

And now, linked rather than streamed to avoid spoilers...

(I guess that also shows you what subtype of Trek fan I am, that I caught that... ;) )

^ Not sure what I was supposed to catch.

Yes, kitty presence is big. I don't think your cat's medical problems give her actual understanding of yours, but they may make her more sensitive to your emotions and pain. Mine are oblivious.

The music at the tail end of that video is the same music from the Cardassian Faction trailer from Star Trek: Online. :D

Long story made short:

The guy who raped me has pled guilty. Sentencing will be on December 6. The sentencing guidelines specify somewhere between 18 to 30 years, so my job now is to write such a devastating victim impact statement that he gets all thirty.

And on the main topic:

My leg is finally starting to get better again. It was a gorgeous sunny day today, and the physical therapist and I went for a walk. Nice.

That's good that he's going to get what he deserves without you going through the trial.

And I'm glad to hear that you had a nice walk :) Walks are a simple thing but have that magical ability of improving mood :)

Good, I'm glad you won't have to go through a trial.

Oh, how wonderful! :) And being out in the sun a bit is good for you too.

You're welcome.

And I have talking kittens for you... :)

Have you ever seen what your cats do when you play these videos?
