Zathras says: what your own top 25 episodes of B5 are being?

This come from outside time, but still Zathras. Zathras think is good enough to be on someones top 25, maybe even The Ones:

"Zathras look at budget deficit, says, not good. Stop spending.
But no one ever listen to Zathras. But one day, everybody listen.
Then, Zathras elected. Zathras will be great president. Someday even
have face printed on money. Then, everybody have Zathras face in
pants. It is good to be president." -JMS

No Top 25 would be complete without Zathras, of course.

"Zathras trained in crisis management."

Do they still sell those Zathras/Zathras and Londo/G'Kar campaign materials?

BTW... everyone should take a gander at this link: See any familiar names? ;)

The Quote Store has been closed for a while this summer but I'd be willing to bet that if you wrote to the Scripts Team at help@babylon5scripts.com they'd be able to help you. Now that the election's a little closer I need to get a Zathras/Zathras yard sign for my balcony.

Y'know, for the life of my I can't remember what my .sig was right then that JMS might have been referring to. {Googles for the original usenet thread} Ah. Looks like it was a section from the Declaration of Principles.

I don't see his name in that thread but OmahaStar sometimes hangs out over there at jmsnews.com/forums , too and Glindros is a regular. Y'all are welcome to come by any time. I especially recommend the Silly Quote Conversation. (full disclosure: I'm a moderator over there)

Zathras say, "Cannot pick the One, or the Twenty-Five. Examined the list. Zathras very disappointed that Deconstruction of Falling Stars not make list. But Zathras used to silly humans and their poor judgment. Zathras ok with that. Zathras know humans need Zathras to point out short-comings."

Zathras good at doings, not understandings. So Zathras go discuss with The One Who Is. And Who Must Be Obeyed.

Just one of my secret identities... and I am the one on the right. Just so we're clear on that. :p

That's a fun picture, Neroon! (By the way, I also really like your avatar; is there a story behind it?)

No way I can pick 25 episodes. So I'm just going to mention the two that moved me to tears when I first watched them... and still do: "Passing Through Gesthemene" and "Sleeping In Light".

That lady friend is the love of my life. Despite the fact she married me, she's brilliant in every sense of the word. A superb costumer, she made that Delenn outfit a couple of years ago. The Zathras outfit was made by a friend about 10 years ago. The wig I'm wearing - yes irl my hairline is more Minbari - was about 10 years old and artificial hair. I couldn't afford to buy a decent human hair wig.... so for the time being, that's the best I can do.

There are others to post, but perhaps another time

I can't do 25, that many just don't stick in my head, and sod coming up with an order!

Babylon Squared (1.20)
The Fall of Night (2.22)
Severed Dreams (3.10)
War Without End, Pts 1 & 2 (3.16 & 3.17)
Z'ha'dum (3.22)
Into the Fire (4.06)
Between the Darkness and the Light (4.19)
Endgame (4.20)
Sleeping in Light (5.22)

OK, top 25 from favorite to 25th favorite (I have 110 favorites ;) )

1. Movements of Fire and Shadow
2. The Very Long Night of Londo Mollari
3. Intersections in Real Time
4. And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place
5. Rumors, Bargains, and Lies
6. Z'ha'dum
7. Falling Toward Apotheosis
8. The Long, Twilight Struggle
9. War Without End
10. Objects in Motion
11. Grey 17 Is Missing (yes this really is one of my favorites)
12. The Ragged Edge
13. The Corps Is Mother The Corps Is Father
14. Comes the Inquisitor
15. The Coming of Shadows
16. The Deconstruction of Falling Stars
17. Ship of Tears
18. Babylon Squared
19. Endgame
20. And the Sky Full of Stars
21. The Geometry of Shadows
22. Infection (ditto the Grey 17 note)
23. Dust to Dust
24. Convictions
25. Deathwalker

Mine, short but sweet:

1) Point of No Return ( also known as "I Am Become Death, Destroyer of Worlds")
2) No Surrender, No Retreat
3) The Coming of Shadows
4) Signs and Portents
5) The Wheel of Fire

Not the episode titles, but the season titles. Those in my book count as one long episode, or chapter.

This list represents what I think are the most enjoyable hours to watch by themselves after knowing the whole story.

1. "The Coming of Shadows"
2. "The Fall of Night"
3. "Into the Fire"
4. "In the Shadow of Z'ha'dum"
5. "Interludes and Examinations"
6. "Sleeping in Light"
7. "Babylon Squared"
8. "Signs and Portents"
9. "Chrysalis"
10. "Voices of Authority"
11. "A Race Through Dark Places"
12. "Messages from Earth"
13. "Endgame"
14. "Convictions"
15. "No Surrender, No Retreat"
16. "Severed Dreams"
17. "The Long, Twilight Struggle"
18. "Point of No Return"
19. "By Any Means Necessary"
20. "Rumors, Bargains, and Lies"
21. "Day of the Dead"
22. "Revelations"
23. "Whatever Happened to Mr. Garibaldi?"
24. "Born to the Purple"
25. "TKO"

There are only seven episodes of the 110 that I really do not like, which is a very good fraction for any TV show.

As Neroon said initially, we have a wide variety of opinion on this board. Several people have listed my least favorite episode as their #1 pick, yet I do not think that they are crazy. They merely enjoy something that I do not.

I find that both the Walker Smith story and the sitting shiva story have great emotional payoffs, and they complement each other very well. Both Walker and Yuri are excellent guest roles. As with the best sci-fi, "TKO" is an exploration of humanity that just happens to have a backdrop of aliens and space.

I will agree with you on "Exogenesis," though. The back parasites were too off-putting for me to really enjoy the episode, even though the Marcus-Franklin material is great.

I can only think of Babylon 5 as a whole entity, so I won't even bother trying to pick favorites, but I'm lovin' this thread.
I feel like Zathras is in the room with me!

RIP Tim Choate
