I haven't done a movie review for several years. Most of you probably don't even know or weren't even here when I used to write several film reviews a week on the boards. I like to think they were generally enjoyed. I'm gonna write one for Star Trek after I see it in a couple hours, and hopefully you guys will enjoy it. It's been a long time, but this is a very special occasion. I haven't been this stoked about a movie in awhile!

About the mind meld / exposition scene.
I think that was for Joe Six Pack more then it was for us.
Presenting Trek to folks who don't get it, you have to expect that kinda stuff.

I have seen it three time now and I do not agree with TBAIO on the mid-section of the film. It was done in away to lead JOE SIX PACK on, and that was the point of this movie...JOE SIX PACK.

It is better than any of the TNG movies, even FC. And is only challenged by KHAN as the best of all time....IMO.

My problem isn't with the mind meld itself, my problem is that it's only purpose is clunky exposition that could have been done, and was done, elsewhere. The entire middle section was bad storytelling and bad scriptwriting, plain and simple.
