The images of the engine room are of a minature built by Thomas Sasser a decade ago.

Yes, Thomas did a FANTASTIC job on that model, which was really HUGE, judging from the scale of that cat!

I was amazed at the quality of his work, all his work, he is a great model maker, and has a prominent place on many model boards.

So the cat broke into the model and had his buddy videotape him while he trashed the place? HMMMMMM.

Beautiful work done! I wonder if the model still exists?

Yes, I believe that it does. Thomas would not put all that work into something and just throw it in the trash. He's something of a legend in the model building community, and has built up a very impressive collection of his work. I just wish he would have built more sets, like some corridors and transporter room, in the same scale.

I never even made the "Sylvia" connection before.

That engine room model was originally built for the fanfilm "The Tressaurian Intersection" but was ultimately not used. A much more blown apart engine room model, corridors, etc. were built later by Minnefex Inc. and are what appears in the episode.
