Youtube login broken, page of jibberish appears, urge to kill rising

Clicking "log in" on youtube's front page produces this:

It's been like that for more than 3 hours.

Rebooting does nothing. Deletion of youtube / google cookies does nothing.

Any idea what would cause the like of that?

I have not yet tried a different machine to see if the same thing would happen, but I have a bad feeling about it.

I'd address the urge to kill first. I was just on youtube, it's fine.

Just tried logging in with IE, and that worked fine.

So it's something with firefox. I don't know what though, it never did this before.

I hope it sorts itself out, I'd rather not have to go into ie every time I want to do stuff in youtube.

I use Safari, and it seems okay there as well. Perhaps it's something screwy with a script?

Firefox Browser, Youtube works fine for me.

Meh, it's still happening.

I think I'll have to totally uninstall firefox and reinstall it again.

Well I fully uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it, which worked... on the computer in question in the OP, which was a 2 year old samsung netbook. Which is running windows 7.

Now, today, the same thing has happened to my main desktop. (Running vista) Firefox did an automatic update when I started it up an hour ago and now I can't log in to youtube, I get the same page of random code that I was getting on the netbook.

I don't want to do a full uninstall-reinstall here too but may have to.

WHAT THE HELL IS CAUSING THIS?????

Have you tried creating another account and logging in using it?

Can you get someone else to create an account for you on their computer and then see if you can use it?

Ugh, garbage text. I hate those.

It happens when your computer app have problems decoding the ones and zeros from a source, like a web server. Getting on a different computer or using another app won't stop it. Could be the settings causing some problems translating the binary.

Just for kicks, check what version of Adobe Flash is on your computer.

Version 11.3 is quite buggy and has caused different problems, especially with Firefox.

In my case, Firefox would not have focus when opening a new page, where it would previously have focus on that page.

Pages that would open with the cursor in a log-in box would not do so.

I uninstalled 11.3 & reinstalled 11.2 and cleared up my issues.

Before I updated to 13.0.1 my Firefox would -sometimes- have the sound of a YouTube video start twice!?
I'd see the video and hear the sound as normal... but there would be an echo of the entire soundtrack running about a second delayed as well
If I paused the video it would respond as it should but the 'echo' would continue until I blocked a certain script on the page -which I then would have to re-allow to start the video again, sometimes it would re-load without the secondary sound...

I've never experienced anything like this though.
