Your Top Shows of 2009

My favorite show of 2009 was Harper's Island, the 13-hour murder mystery that aired on CBS during the summer. I loved the fresh-faced young cast, the locations and the gruesome violence.

You didn't mind how boring some of the actors were and how grossly nonsensical the plot was?

Not at all. I knew exactly what we were in for as soon as the first victim was shredded by the boat propeller. As for the actors, Harper's Island introduced me to Irish actress Elaine Cassidy (as Abby Mills). She became my favorite.

The only shows I watched with regularity were Chuck and The Office. Fortunately both were quite good.

1. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
2. Babylon 5

** I am reserving judgment on LOST until after season 6 is over and we have an ending...but LOST could well unseat either one or both of the above as my favorite show ever.

Other shows which would make the top 15 (in no particular order): Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Farscape, The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, NCIS, Cold Case.
