your "TEST" movie

The opening scene of "LOTR: The Two Towers" wouldn't be a bad choice, either. The soundtrack is intense with all of the guttural Dwarvish chanting. Visually.. while intense scene, I'm not sure how much it would "push" a new system.

For Sound tests I've used:
The launch in Apollo 13
The Highway Chase in The Matrix Reloaded
The Bride VS O Ren Ishii's henchmen in Kill Bill

For Video tests, I don't know, haven't had to do any of those. I'd probabally pick something with really nice art like:

Black Lagoon
Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid
The Place Promised In Our Early Days
Kanon (2006)
