Your Posting Habits and Statistics

How often or how much do you post on any of the BBS forums?

  • Total voters
    65
  • Poll closed .
But I think the numbers change every day, so let's say it was Squiggy today, it could be Miss Chicken or Jayson tomorrow or the next day.

BoardReader appears to only evaluate the public forums (i.e. not the lounges or TNZ) which makes perfect sense. Unfortunately it doesn't present a truly accurate report.

"I reply to or start a thread a few times a week in different forums."

I do read a lot

and I reply to threads/posts more than I start new threads myself

I have this sudden urge to being posting prolifically. I can't imagine what might have caused it...

^Yeah, it amuses me slightly when people who joined this year post 'Welcome, n00bs!' or some variation thereof on the welcome thread.

I think it's sweet. It means that they already feel attached to the community and part of it in some way. It can be difficult to get comfortable in a community of this size, so when someone new seems to take, it's a good thing.

I know when I first signed up, I posted maybe two posts, no one replied, I felt utterly lost, and I spent all my time on a smaller forum. I didn't come back to TBBS till much later.

I'm a bit of a rank whore so I tend to post a lot. Although my DPC is just below 3 it's a little misleading. I joined last July, but only started posting this year so my 1100 posts is in a lot shorter time frame. I like to spread it around, the only forums I don't go into are the Gaming, Engineering and Astrometrics ones except for S&T. I hang out in TNZ a lot, but don't join in all the back and forth often. Just not my thing.

Me too. Odd, that. :p

Maybe those of us in the 3 PPD and under range should sign some sort of Mutual Reply Pact, which requires us to respond to each other's posts, thus driving up our own stats? ;)

They're doing exactly that in the DS9 FIve Word thread. ;)

^ Why do you think I started participating in the TNG seven word thread? ;)

(Okay, actually, it's fun. But still!)

I post and reply, usually on Misc and TNZ in a given day (some days more than others). I sort of "check" TrekBBS as a force of habit. Occasionally I'll rabble up a random thread or something about politics.

As it turns out, the most frequent ones are those taking part in the DS9 Five Word thread. :guffaw:

Wow... I was the 9th "top author" on the board last week? Does this mean I qualify for spammer status?

I do acknowledge, though, that if that site was able to count TNZ threads, I'd probably be much farther down on the list. Still, I'm quite amazed... I had a feeling that DS9 Five-Word Story thread would increase my post count considerably.
