Do you consider yourself left wing or right wing?

One thing that pees me off is the whole two party system which most countries have adopted it's either "our way or the highway" kind of attitude with the party that wins an election, and refusing to agree wit the other side because they are somehow inferior or undeserving.

Or one party being too inflexible to change and evolve with the rest of the world or community around it because if they dare to grow up they would lose their supporters. Can't have that now can we?

This is the bane of real life.

Black/ White
Good/Bad
Us and them....
Cue Pink Floyd...

I'll see you on the Darkside of the Moon...

I would like some cheese when you arrive,
But it's not necessary....

Ah, a 1D voting choice. Pity that there are other possible axes. The poll is too limited, "Centre" is missing, and calibration of what is left and right differs according to country. I choose to withhold my vote. I don't have an ideal poll in mind and a radio button list is also effectively limited to 1D anyway. Brings to mind that someone should invent a 2D graphical poling system, at least, with calibrated axes.

It's just over three months past the cutoff, which doesn't strike me as that egregious. Since it wasn't just a one-liner spammy post, and it has generated some further discussion, unless one of the other mods object, I'm inclined to leave it open and let the conversation continue.
Yep, it's fine. This is one of those topics that are sort of timeless and get brought up every year or so anyway.

probably "far left"... "left" at minimum.
On that political compass test I am smack dab in the middle of the green square, hanging out with Gandhi: libertarian left

i'm gonna take this test again....

And Well wow my chart now is totally different to 2016

pppppp.jpg

In 2016 I was very close to the centre of the chart, not quite on the centre but close but now ooh boy. I'm a raving leftytard. Back then my red dot was in the bottom right of the red square.

I tend to prefer this test lately, which gets me.

Well from what I can gather, you folks are even more left-wing overall than a couple years ago...I'm definately a minority here!
I retook my 8values and I came out a bit more moderate, but nothing much changed.

Also, you guys might like this other test, more different axis' than 8values.

That was a fun test although I think some of the questions are poorly constructed--I couldn't make sense of some of them and picked the neutral answer.

The ecology one is a little low for my tastes, but it's probably because I said I was strongly in favor of nuclear power and some of the questions were either too vague or too absolutist.

I'm an Independent who voted for Bernie Sanders in the Primary because I agreed with him a little more than I did with Hillary Clinton (I'm not a Bernie Bro or "Bernie or Bust"), then I voted for Hillary Clinton in the General Election.

I hate Donald Trump with a burning passion and think he has no business whatsoever being President. I don't like the Tea Party at all. They tried to sabotage Obama for all of his eight years. Even though I don't like them, I can live with Reagan-Era/Country Club Republicans. They might be a storm to weather but -- unlike with Trump -- I don't worry about them getting us into WWIII or -- unlike the Tea Party -- obstructing absolutely everything from the opposite party.

I'm for Gay Rights. I voted to legalize marijuana only because I don't think people who use it should end up in jail. I personally can't stand marijuana myself. I think we spend too much on the military and not enough on the men and women who serve. I think if college is becoming a necessity then we need to make K-16 free and not strap graduates with enormous debt. I'm for gun control. What else? Medical costs are ridiculously expensive. The issue of abortion should be left to women and their doctors. All jobs should offer health insurance. I think everyone should be taxed proportionately. I'm for getting us off of fossil fuel and getting us onto solar power and renewable energy.

I'm also part of The Resistance and attend Protests. I have an "I'm Still With Her" T-Shirt.

So, whatever you want to call what I described above, that's what I am.

Some questions I couldn't answer (so I chose hesitant/NA) because of the way they were framed. Otherwise, a decent test.

The two icons at the bottom are "Anarchism" and "Pragmatism." According to the page:

Anarchism : When the people are being hit with a stick, they are not happier if the stick is called “the stick of the people”. The State is an oppression that must be abolished.
Pragmatism : politics objectively boil down to looking at where the problems are and trying to solve them according to the means available.

I would have considered myself conservative in politics but have voted for our liberal party more. That being said I did the 8 values test recently and the result was 'Centrist'.

Economic Axis: Social
Equality 62.8% / 37.2% Markets

Diplomatic Axis: Balanced
Nation 51.6% / 48.4% World

Civil Axis: Moderate
Liberty 47.7% / 52.3% Authority

Societal Axis: Neutral
Traditional 42% / 58% Progress

Edit second test:

Family Fatherland Justice.
