Your Idea . . .

^Yeah, Apple and Microsoft... or get my parents to buy them, they invested in mining stocks that made very little returns in the 70s and 80s. But the important part would be not being a complete idiot in my teens and twenties, kinda like what Dennis said.

eh, better to look forward. Heck many of us wouldn't be born if our parents had the opportunity to look back and make different choices.

Kinda, but I was so very stupid for a supposedly smart guy even I can't believe it, and I lived it!

I look at this way.. I did some really stupid things with lifetime consequences but if I hadn't done those particular stupid things I would have just done some other stupid things with different lifetime consequences. The point really is to look at today and think on how one could be less stupid both in the moment and for the future.

Your idea. . . of paradise.
To be one with the Body, experiencing joy and contentment through the guidance of Landru. Peace and harmony to all. No war, no disease. Landru is gentle. It's paradise, my friend. Paradise.

You win the thread.

shhhh I am not of the body...? ahhhhhh... Landru forgive me! take me back ahhhhh hehehehe...

A romantic vision of England, with lush fields, rolling hillsides dotted with sheep, with tidy little villages that you can get about in completely on foot, and travel between on a bike. Everyone has their own business or farm, no one goes without, and the days are filled with talk of literature, the drinking of Scotch, and gambols in the countryside.

The only made-man contraption making noise would be windmills, church bells, and bicycle gears. No attention-obsessed phones or cars. :D

What's my idea of Paradise?

How I'd always felt, ab ovo, with Judith. She was/is an Artiste (not like myself). She was so charming and articulate and sweet and adorable - beautiful, really. Just being around her was intoxicating - and not just for me. I remember the way she'd call out, sweetly "... garçon!" at the Bistrot La Minette, and he would practically trip over his own feet, in answer to her summons. Of all my features, some of which, I'd naturally expect her to find quite wonderful, it was my "sensitive eyes," as she called them, that had won her over. So, when she'd given me one of her rings one day, I didn't understand, what it meant, or why she'd done it. I would've taken it for a mere Token of Affection, except for her solemn expression. But from then on, she was out of my Life. The ring itself is in a jewel case, stored somewhere, with other Odds & Ends™ from elsewhere. I still think about her, sometimes. It's been so long now, that I can't say that I even know her, anymore, really. I do know that I've never felt like I did around her with anyone else, since then. But if I could find that, again ...

that would be my idea of Paradise.

[obvious] Paradise would be controlling the Star Trek franchise [/obvious]

And everyone here would be on the production team.

... you are wise... <small bow>

A nice, large Andrew Lloyd Wright house in the woods. Beyond that, a grassy field. The house has an art studio, a library, a gym, a computer room, and an awesome kitchen. Two cats. Few visitors.
