Your holo-program.

What kind of holodeck program would you run?
Like many other men, if suddenly given access to a holodeck I imagine I would create my dream woman and bang her for a few weeks (forgive the vulgarity).

I think I would also re-create people I know and play out possible scenarios, say and do what I’ve always wanted to, much like Barclay in ‘Hollow Pursuits’.

Quasi-athletic activities might be fun, like sky-diving, being able to fly like superman or do cool Yamakazi-esque shit through the city.

But when the novelty of those things wears off, what then? Would it be just the same as playing PC games is now, or would everyone become addicted and spend every minute they could in there?

I admit, I'd give holoporn a try. I can see the addiction factor though... being able to create the perfect woman at the push of a button.

After that, I'd try out some TV programs that I like... with myself in the staring role.

Video-games... I'm more into the simulator type games like PAX reactor and Singularity I doubt they'd be much fun on the holodeck.

If I had access to a holodeck and was to create a program that wasn't just sex, it would be where physical laws don't affect you and you could fly through space. Imagine being able to just soar through the rings of Saturn, or watch a sunrise from Mercury.

Apart from basically creating a sex doll out of light and forcefields you guys should consider the possibilities you have with with a holodeck. You can literally go anywhere, create anything you want and actually "be" there. You could go site seeing anywhere on Earth without having to travel or pay. You could go inside every building and see what's inside, try every job there is (be a Formula 1 driver ) You could go back in history and see important events. Learning new things would be very easy and a lot more fun. Heck you could create your entire planet or even universe and create every possible situation you can imagine.

Instead of using it as a sex toy imagine what you could do with it that enriches your personality.

Lol well anyway I'll get off my soapbox now.

^^^ Aside from "pumping" women - would like to create a starship ( not sure which class, maybe a Sovereign ) and go exploring the galaxy without having to take orders from above but have random things happen - yeah, can go anywhere I want when I want ! Sort of like a cruise around the galaxy visiting exotic worlds and enjoying what they have to offer - landscapes, nice beaches and then. . . the women .

On second choice I'd like to re-create the Jurassic Period ( for the hell of it ) and spend time dodging dinosaurs, hunting buffalo and general exploring .

Thirdly I'd like to re-create the Medieval times in England fighting as a Knight, or even as a King, in large battles just to get a feel of how horrific those times were. Not to mention getting involved with a gorgeous princess after saving her life .

Ever heard of the game Elite: Frontier ?

Well I'd like to re-create that ( except graphics of course, can have realism in here ! ) and play that game in 1st person perspective inside a ship as a pilot. Would be fun doing trading runs to earn money, blowing up pirates, upgrading the ship and it's technology not to mention exploring the galaxy.

Nah, I'd be in there like Geordi LaForge designing the next generation "U.S.S. Prometheus" or "U.S.S. Defiant" or "Delta Flyer". My own version of "Starship Creator: Warp II".

Or I'd create a stretch of Hawaiian beach lagoon & a little house. It's secluded somewhere against a tall cliff, & nestled against a thick tropical jungle just overflowing with edible fruit. Occasionally a mysterious woman appears, seduces me, makes sensuous love to me once that night & one more time in the morning. While I'm in the shower, she dresses & disappears.

She mysteriously shows up if I get in trouble somehow & nurses me back to health...& again, disappears. But one night, shows up out of the blue & asks me to marry her & promises to never leave again as she places my hand on her six-month pregnant stomach. She makes good on her promise & never leaves. She teaches me to spear fish. We live happily ever after.
