Far as I remember all the major releases of 2009 are out and even though the latest releases like L4D2, Mario Bros Wii & Creed 2 have only just come out so people might need more time with them. What are your top 1,2,3 game releases of 2009 ? (please try to stick to top 3)

excluding Creed 2 (need to play more) my top 3...

Released in 2009
1.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
2. Uncharted 2: Among Theives
3. Resident Evil 5

Creed will probably top Batman by end of the year (don't get MW 2 till X Mas) and despite playing other releases like OPF 2, they were simply not that good. Overall I have been very dissapointed with 2009 as a gaming year because so many games I have wanted to play have been pushed back to 2010.

However I have played a lot of games that came out in 2008 and my entire gaming experience of 2009 would rank like this...

Games Played in 2009...
1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
2. Dead Space
3. Uncharted 2

Batman is at the top of my list, though I have missed all of the November Big Releases.

Other games that I have enjoyed this year:

Brutal Legend
Beatles Rock Band
Mirror's Edge (though it came out last year)

Nothing. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story looks incredible, but I haven't played it yet.

The games I've had the most fun playing from this years releases are...

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Killzone 2
Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Infamous
Ghostbusters
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Wolfenstein

Really the only game of note I've played this year is Modern Warfare 2. That game stood out as an amazing experience. Everything else is just 'meh' in comparison.

MW2 & Batman Arkham Asylum. Can't think of anything else worthy.

Off-topic, but whenever I see the abbreviation MW2 my brain instantly thinks Mech-Warrior 2. It's an old habit that's hard to break..

I played a lot of suff, but in the end the ones I really liked where:

Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword (With mods)
King's Bounty
Blood Bowl

I can't remember any games from before ODST. I played Persona 4 over the summer, but I don't think that counts.

But something awesome must have came out in the first half of the year...

Xbox - Ghostbusters and Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen (huge improvement over the first).

Although both games are linear and non-sandbox, they have a considerable amount of replayability.

You're not the only one. If I'd have been a big Mech player, I'd have expected it to stick, but I just never got round to it.

As for top 2009 games for me:-

Dragon Age: Origins
COD:MW2.

Most of the games that I've bought during 2009 were really released before then so don't qualify.

COD:MW2 and L4D, L4D2. And Peggle. Really hooked on Peggle. Don't know why-I don't usually play that sort of thing. Oh, and Military Madness. But its 20+ years old in its original form.

I played a ton of fantastic video games this year, but here are my top 3.

1) Dragon Age: Origins
2) Uncharted 2 - Among Thieves
3) Batman: Arkham Asylum

Dragon Age was the biggest surprise for me, I've put in 25 hours and according to the game I've seen about 35% of it. I've played games with better gameplay and graphics this year but the story and characters are just....fuckin' amazing so I am giving it top honors. I can't get enough of the world.

Anyway, other great games were GTA 4: Lost and the Damned/The Ballad of Gay Tony, The Fallout 3 DLC (Loved all 5), Infamous, Left 4 Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2. I also enjoyed Wolverine, Ghostbusters and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

1) Dragon Age - The best video game experience I've had all year.
2) Demon's Souls - It has some problems but I love the atmosphere and game play.
3) Assassin's Creed 2 - I thought the first one wasn't that bad so I'm really impressed by the sequel.

1. Dragon Age: Origins

I was surprised to find out how much I like this game. The interface isn't as polished as the Mass Effect interface, but I like customizing the "gambit" system that it has. The story is great, considering I like to listen to the dialogue and read the documents that I come across. It really fleshes out the world.

2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

The only reason this is number two instead of one is that the game is shorter and completely linear. However, it is really polished and the story is great. I found myself humming the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme in certain parts. I love the fact that you play as a guy who's always in a little over his head. Highly recommended.

3. Batman: Arkham Asylum

The first Eidos game I've liked in a long time. If you're a fan of Batman and stealth/action games, you'll like this title. The main voice actors are from the 1990s' Batman: The Animated Series (Joker, Batman, Harley Quinn), who perform magificently.

4. Ghostbusters

This one was a guilty pleasure for me. This was a pleasant return to the Ghostbusters world for me. I enjoyed hearing the original cast from Ghostbusters reprising their roles for the game. Nothing really deep, but it was fun for me.

I might add more later as I think of them.

Honestly, I'm gonna wait until I actually play everything that was/will be released in 2009. I just got Dragon Age yesterday and I'm still waiting for my copy of Assassin's Creed II. Oh and I have yet to finish inFamous which I got last week. So for now, all I can do is list my current #1 which is definitely Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

I haven't really played anything from the second half of this year yet. RE5 would probably make it on my list though. Really, the only stuff I can think of came out at the end of last year
