Your Game of the Year 2011

So yeah, what is it? What's the game that was the absolute best game you played this year? And no ties. Pick only one. Honorable mentions are okay.

For me, it's Skyrim. Granted, this was an incredibly difficult thing to choose. There were so many spectacular games this year.

Have I played any games made this year? Oh, right, Final Fantasy IV Complete for the PSP. It wins Game of the Year by default.

Minecraft. It was "officially" released this year, so I'm going with that.

I said last year that Minecraft would be my GOTY whenever it was released, so that makes it the winner for me this year. It was still the game I spent most time playing in 2011, especially after the update that added weather, for some reason I got really into the game for about a month following that update.

Other than that, Portal 2. It was an amazing experience, fantastically funny, and it was challenging without being frustrating. An absolute joy to play.

Human Revolution is definitely at the top of my list, Minecraft immediately below it... don't think I've played any other games made in 2011 though.

Probably not the most popular choice, but in terms of pure enjoyability, its gotta be Saint's Row: The Third. Can't recall any other game being as fun as running through a brothel drugged out of my mind and butt ass naked. All while shooting up the joint!

Wow, the only game mentioned so far I've played is Arkham City...

For me it was a toss up between the indie games, From Dust and Magicka and I think I'll go for Magicka because the amount of PvP fun I've had with it with friends, oh and co-op because of the pure amount of "accidentally" team-killing that went on.

From the games I've played, I guess I gotta go with MW3. I'm assuming Arkham City is better, but I haven't played it. I'm about a third of the way through Uncharted 3, and that's certainly not going to win. Portal 2 was pretty great as well.

Absolute best game I played this year: Transformers - War for Cybertron
It was everything I wanted from a Transformer game and had an excellent and fun multiplayer on top of it.

Honourable mention: Persona 3 Portable
I've now sunk 60+ hours in it and still not finished. I already loved the PSP, but this game made me love it more. Can't wait for the Vita and Disgaea.

I didn't like Portal 2 as much as I did the original Portal, LA Noire was a disappointment, Gears of War 3 is good (both SP and MP) but not GOTY material and I still haven't finished Deus Ex.

Hmm...I want to say either Deus Ex or Arkham City but I have to disqualify those since I've yet to complete them (I'm actually a little afraid AC was starting to fry my graphics card.) So Portal 2 it is!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is my favorite this year. The gameplay, art direction, music, and atmosphere all added up to produce the most satisfying gaming experience I have had in a long time.

I have no hepatisation in recommending “Final Fantasy IV” as my favourite and best game of the year 2011. it is a nice game to be experienced. FFIV rocks.
