Your first thought in the morning

Inspired by VidiianSkinRash's thread, what is your first thought in the morning when you wake up?

Mine is always "Man, I hate that sound. Life sucks." mondays to thursdays. Then I press snooze and replay my dreams in my head. I always have weird dreams so I marvel at the way my brain would just come up with these random scenes when I sleep.

Friday, I tag a "Cheer up, buddy, it's Friday." at the end.

Saturdays and Sundays, it's often "Life is good."

I think I should be happy everyday to wake up. That's what people keep telling me. Do most people really wake up feeling happy?

"What time is it?" There are five clocks in my bedroom to answer this question.

My first thought in the morning is literally,

"Oh YES I am going to have COFFEE!"

It's a motivator.

After "Ugh," my second thought is usually, "Why is the coffee so far away?"

I have considered many times to use a mini-fridge as my nightstand and put the coffee maker right on top of it so I don't actually have to get out of bed to get my first cup of coffee.

You sir, are a genius.

I know. If my roommate didn't also use my coffeemaker, I would do it. But for now, it resides in the kitchen so he doesn't have to come into my bedroom just to have coffee.

Just buy another one!

You can do this.

I'm usually happy and relaxed when I wake up, because a majority of the time I wake up naturally and as late as I like. That, by far, is the absolute best thing about working independently.

Of the rest of the time, I'm happy but disorientated, because if I'm woken earlier, it generally means a mid-morning telephone call to offer me some work, and therefore cash. :)

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNS!!!

Then it gradually sinks in that I'm actually alive and not amongst the undead.

I used to wonder who set that damn annoying alarm clock before I realized it was me, but nowadays my cat is usually nice enough to climb up on my face or chest and start stamping her paws back and forth to wake me up to feed her.

My first thought in the morning is usually, "Gotta pee!"

That's usually my thought around 4am when my bladder wakes me up several hours before I want it to. I can't remember the last time I didn't wake up in the middle of the night to pee.

Me too. I wake up every night. And every night, I would check the clock and hope it's not close to actual wake-up time yet.

Make up your mind, damnit, do you want my first thought in the morning or the first thought when I wake up?

My first thought in the morning is usually something like this: "Darn, do I really need to edit that post again? -it must be time to go to bed."

My first thoughts after waking up cannot be verbalised, but soon after that my routine forces me to think :ack:, and the thought usually is something along the line of: "What type of coffee-beans should I grind today?" -but that is many minutes after I have risen from bed.

/.../ nowadays my cat is usually nice enough to climb up on my face or chest and start stamping her paws back and forth to wake me up to feed her.
My kitten is taking on a bit more weight than she should -'neutralized' cats have a tendency to not be able to self-administer their food-intake very well. I'm dreading this very situation; waking up by the paws of a hungry cat! -can't you feed them before bed? -or is it just a naive dream of mine that that'll keep the cat out of my hair in 'the morning'?
