Your Favourite Underrated / Less Discussed Episodes

^That's also one reason I like it - it has some genuine character development for Tom. The other (main) reason is that for all its errors, at the very least it's not predictable and boring. Feels more like 'what substances were they on this week' than 'I guess the writers had to make the deadline' and since I'm watching primarily to be entertained, that's a significant plus to me.

Then again, logical consistency isn't the most important point in my book. I only really strongly dislike an episode when it does some kind of character assassination in my view.

I always had a soft spot for Barge of the Dead - but then again, my tastes apparently aren't average. I also think Threshold isn't the best episode but not as bad as many people make it out to be.

Barge of the Dead was an awesome episode, and a pretty big episode for B'Elanna. She made things right with her mother, something that has always impacted her life. It was also cool to see the anti-So-Vo-Kor.

My favorite Voyager episode involving Klingons as a focus. I though the story was well woven and interesting crisis of faith for B'Elanna, especially since she didn't really like the whole Klingon cultural things being foisted upon her.

I think a lot of Chakotay centric episodes are underrated. Nemesis is high on my list of Voyager episodes. Maneuvers And Distant Origin. I actually like Tattoo just because it’s so different for Star Trek. Unity I think has interesting things too.

I think the Chakotay hate/indifference makes people not give these episodes enough credit

Voyager season 6 episode 17 'The spirit folk' is an episode which a few years ago wouldnt come to my mind when thinking about my affection for Startrek Voyager. As years went by, things happened, changed my perspective on things and my life - nowadays i can relate to this episode in a very special way. Absolutely loveable, made with love and dealing with love. Great episode, well executed and pleasing acting.

Honestly i just looked for a right place to write shortly about how much i like this episode today. Found out about it the last 40 minutes when watching this episode again.
Seems to me like an episode one would rather skip and 'underrate' - like me a few years ago.

I don't think it's been deemed "underrated", but I would opine that "Blink of an Eye" hasn't been discussed enough. It takes an idea posited from "Blink of an Eye", but innovates and expands on it so much that it feels like an original creation. One that also fixes a huge plot hole in TOS's "Wink of an Eye", regarding the two disparate timelines, that makes it feel coherent. It's got a robust guest cast as well.

The only real nitpick is dialogue bestowing a double entendre in regards to giving the EMH a sex life (hetero or otherwise, it's stupid and insulting to the biological being that's been used as, if I were to guess, most life forms would - upon being told that a potential partner is just a roving bunch of force fields and heat generators and tractor beams and so much more jam-packed into a teensy emitter that can't be removed... that's even more awkward than any other manufactured device that some people use.
(Well, okay, "She was my roommate. Three years is a long time, Captain. One needs companionship"* is what the EMH says, but that's really not the case. The EMH would make acquaintances and friends, but companionship has always meant more than mere friendship, and generally used in a context that means other than "family", since "roommate" also indicates "platonic". Either way, the viewer gets to decide and we'd all be just as right or otherwise because it's an opinion based on the information told. Indeed, if the EMH is making new friends but keeping the old, is there not a lot of sociological data that he could share with the other crewmembers. Nope, nothing about that even hinted at... which is passable because the story is already balancing a lot to begin with. Depending on which week it is and consistency therein, he shared everything and - much to the delight of Harry "Now quite vicarious, thank you anyway" Kim - it's all G-rated.

Some good ones mentioned in here already. I'm not as sure of this as I should be, but I believe Worst Case Scenario is my favorite Voyager episode (it's either that or Distant Origin). I don’t think WCS is all that underrated, but I doubt many have it as their overall #1 or #2.

However, Cathexis is in my Top Ten, and I know for sure that's not a popular opinion. It's action-packed with a good mystery, it makes good use of the whole cast, it has crackling dialogue, and I love the ending.

Because I'm certain everyone's super-interested, I thought I would revise these remarks after watching Distant Origin two weeks ago (with a brand-new Voyager fan who loved it). Yeah, it's my favorite ep with Worst Case Scenario at #2. Fantastic acting, premise, and dialogue. Distant Origin is right out of original Star Trek (including a highly convincing ship seizure by amazingly advanced aliens) - not that Voyager has to emulate TOS to be good. I also recently rewatched Worst Case Scenario and Cathexis and they hold up too. (Incidentally, Cathexis is also very much like a TOS installment in some respects.)
