Your favourite podcasts

I'm subscribed to a few, but I mostly listen to Coffee Break Spanish (Hola!), and Indiefeed: Alternative.

Ken PD Snydcast- Dana Snyder (master shake) and Ken Plume. Can't really describe this one but it's good for multitasking

Smodcast-Kevin Smith's podcast. I enjoy it for the most part but as of late there is a lot of bitching about why Zak and Miri didn't make as much money as he wanted. Getting a bit old.

This American Life. Always good
Fresh Aire. Also very good

Make It So
Movies you should see
The Dave Ramsey show
48 Days
Gateworld
Manager Tools
Stuff you should know

I had to drop a lot of podcasts when I moved in the with boyfriend in February. I was up near 20 and it became WAY too much.

Right now, I have:

Pardon the Interruption
DVD Digigods
IGN Channel Surfing
Ron Moore's BSG Podcast
Savage Love
Official LOST podcast

Search Engine - A Canadian podcast about the internet.
Escape Pod - Weekly short science fiction stories.
Podcastle - A sister podcast to Escape Pod, but with fantasy stories.
The Moth - People telling stories about themselves to a live audience, without notes.

Also a few that have already been mentioned, like Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and the Official LOST Podcast.

Does anyone listen to any news/economy type podcasts? I've been looking to diversify what I listen to (Mostly sports now) but I thought there might be some recommendations. Also, is Slice of Scifi really that good? I heard some of it and it wasn't bad, but they had a really long introduction (2 minutes) and it sounded a bit dorky.

My favorite's:

"Jay and Jack's LOST podcast" - found it with many positive reviews on iTunes, its quite good, two shows a week, various theories, recaps, clues, listener feedback, very good.

"The BS Report" - ESPN.com's Bill Simmons

"Battlestar Galactica" - Ron Moore's commentary podcast

IndieFeed - Alternative music podcast updates pretty frequently, very good

Damon and Carlton LOST podcast, BS Report, Adam Carolla podcast, Ron Moore's BSG podcast, Welcome to the DL...

The Bugle - From TimesOnline with John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman doing the "Audio Newspaper for a Visual World"
Stephen Fry's Podgrams
BBC Radio 4 Friday night Podcast - Alternates between the Now Show, News Quiz and every once in a while, Charm Offensive

I'm not sure if Charm Offensive is available in podcast form - apparently due to rights issues - but I've never been able to get hold of that one.

I listen to a few podcasts with varying frequency. A couple that are probably pretty standard about here, and a few that would likely not be.

Scifi-related:
Ron Moore's BSG podcast
The Official LOST podcast
The Transmission (LOST)

Non scifi-related:
The Rest of Everest - about mountaineering on Mt Everest (and in the Himalaya in general, but mostly Everest)
History According to Bob - a guy named Bob talks about history. Much better than it probably sounds.
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - self-explanatory
Stolen Moments - a podcast about silent film in general and Rudolph Valentino in particular.
Rick Steves Italy Audiotours (download and keep audiotours I'm likely to use when actually in Italy)

I'm not sure if Charm Offensive is available in podcast form - apparently due to rights issues - but I've never been able to get hold of that one.

Series 4 was on the Friday night podcast I believe at one point. I will admit to having other means for certain R4 shows that aren't on the Podcast, or if in a week they mangle a show too much. It's happened a couple of times on the Now Show to my knowledge.

I occasionally listen to the webcomic Penny Arcade's podcast--creatively titled Downloadable Content, but nothing other than that.

Does anyone subscribe to or download regularly a podcast, and which ones are your favourites?

Great topic. :techman:

I love This American Life. There's an episode entitled 'Lost in America' with a story where Sarah Vowell explains the history of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. If your stomach dosn't hurt from laughing after listening to that, we'll never be able to relate.

Friday Night Comedy from Radio 4 - I'll admit that I'm a much bigger fan of The News Quiz than The Now Show. Sandi Toksvig does a great job, but I miss Linda Smith terribly.

Savage Love. Trashy fun.

Real Time with Bill Maher. Everyone has an opinion on Maher, but I'm impressed by his guests and how they're able to discuss hot topics without the usual layer of bull puckey.

Finally, Pat McCurdy's song of the week. If you're not from Wisconsin you/ve probably never heard of this guy. But if you are, you can probably perform the dance to 'Sex and Beer'. And that's a great thing. :techman:

BS Report--great, clever sports talk from Bill Simmons.
NPR's All Songs Considered Live series. Some really great shows for free here.
