Your favourite line in Trek

asdf1

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Ok guys, what's your fav line, or moment in the whole of Trek.

One of mine would be from 'The Voyage Home' and the old lady, "The doctor gave me a pill, and I grew a new kidney!"
Or Worf's famous, ""Sir, I protest! I am not a merry man!"
I laughed so hard at them, still do.

So what about you?:vulcan:

One of mine would have to be from the TOS episode Devil in the Dark.

McCoy: I'm doctor, not a bricklayer
Kirk: (nonchalantly) You're a healer. There's a patient. That's an order.

I have to go back to the tried and true line from McCoy, about (and this is sad that I don't know it verbatim) "In this galaxy there's a probability of a whole fucking lot of life, don't destroy the one called Kirk."

I also love the talk between Pike and Boyce, about doctors and bartenders.

Those are great choices.

For me, Kirk's friendship and willingness to risk everything for Spock really shines through with "Get two tractor beams on that shuttlecraft!" Loved that one.

There are so many, it's hard to choose just one. The first one that comes to mind is "In every revolution, there's one man with a vision"

Another:

Kirk: "He's saved my life a dozen times over. Isn't that worth at least a career?"
(Or words to that effect.)

I have many, but one that i like the most is quoted from Q:
If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you had better go back home and crawl under your bed.
It's not safe out here! It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid

There are a million things in this universe you can have and a million you can't. It's no fun facing that but that's the way things are.

I haven't seen mention of the great 'Well, a double dumbass on you!'

However, for a more serious line - that's hard for me to pick. There are so many.

One that springs to mind (that is of course better in context) is Picard's 'Let's make sure history never forgets the name... Enterprise' as the alternate 'Yesterday's Enterprise' crew are facing down death.

After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.

I love both of those as well! Great minds think alike. :techman:

For comedy I have to go Spock swearing every other word in The Voyage Home.

I also really like Picard's Shakespeare line to Q in Hide and Q(?). The one that starts with "Oh, I know Hamlet, and what he says with Irony I say with conviction! What a piece of work is man..." Just excellently (is that a word?) written and acted.

Finally, I really HATE the lullaby in Voyager when they change the words to "rock a by baby".

Not so much my favorite line as one of my favorite speeches:

"Cardassians have never been afraid of war, a fact we've proven time and again over these past two years. 7 million of our brave soldiers have given their lives to fulfill our part of the agreement, and what has the Dominion done in return? Nothing. We've gained no new territories. In fact, our influence throughout the Quadrant has diminished. And to make matters worse, we're not even masters in our own home. Travel anywhere in Cardassia and what do you find? Jem'Hadar, Vorta, and now Breen. Instead of the invaders, we have become the invaded. Our allies have conquered us without firing a single shot. Well, no longer. This morning, detachments of the Cardassian First, Third, and Ninth Orders attacked Dominion outposts on Rondack 3. This assault marks the first step towards the liberation of our homeland from the true oppressors of the Alpha Quadrant. I call upon Cardassians everywhere - Resist. Resist today. Resist tomorrow. Resist till the last Dominion soldier has been driven from our soil."

That was one helluva speech.
