Your Favorite TV Show That Was Cancelled

In rough order of how much I loved them:

1. Farscape
2. Wonderfalls
3. Firefly
4. Jericho
5. Dirty Sexy Money - the only non-scifi-ish show on the list. Scifi shows, I'm never really shocked about when they are canceled because they appeal to a niche audience to begin with. But I will never understand why this show did not take off. Brilliant and extremely talented cast, and one of the most bizarre and hilarious storylines ever!
6. The Dresden Files
7. The 4400
8. Life on Mars (US version)
The 4400 was one of my favorites, too.

I'm not sure if its been mentioned but I was really ticked when HBO canceled Carnivale. That was a great show, and when I was a kid I was sad they canceled My So-Called Life.

Odyssey 5 and The Chronicle were two I'd forgotten and I'd like to see them back. Maybe if they were both given some tweaking - I can see why they were cancelled but the basic ideas were solid.

Carnivale. The writing was excellent and the characters were great. The mythology was fascinating and well thought out in advanced. If anybody has any questions about the mythology just check out the Mythology of Carnivale acticle on wikipedia which explains it all. The production values were the best I've ever seen on a television show, better even than a lot of movies.

The main ones I miss and was super ticked about them being canceled are:

Firefly
Jericho
Veronica Mars

For me Farscape, Invasion, and Deadwood would be the big ones.

I was really enjoying Invasion at the time it ended. It started really slow and lost it's audience so I suppose it was always doomed, but it was finally going somewhere interesting and then it got canceled.

I just watched Farscape for the first time last year, and am already re-watching it a second time and probably enjoying it more than I did the first time. It's such an original show and the production values are so high! There should be seven seasons of this at least.

Deadwood is a big one too. You'd think that the whole purpose of having this series would be to build up to the big fire that nearly destroyed the town, and we didn't even get that. Besides that, it was a great show.

Enterprise was really starting to get good but there is so much other Trek out there that I don't necessarily feel a void is left by it's cancellation.

Rome was great and could have run longer but at least they wrapped up the story nicely.

A couple of more shows I wouldn't have minded seeing more of were John From Cincinnati and Huff, but it's not as big a deal as the other shows I mentioned. John was just such a weird show (I'm usually up for weird). Huff had some great dramatic performances and Hank Azaria was great in it, but nobody was watching it. Huff did get a conclusion of sorts though the Teddy storyline ended on kind of a down note (to put it mildly).

SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND

I was addicted to this series while it was on, and when I found out that it wouldn't get another season I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! How could you? It was space war with giant aircraft carriers and hot Marines like Shane Vansen!" (I so wanted to be the father of her children!)

Undercover

Not the JJ Abrams nonsense. In the early nineties there was a CIA series by this name starring one of my favorite character actresses named Linda Purl. It was sensible, engaging and accurate...and only lasted about five seconds on ABC.
