Your favorite TREK toy

Umm...nothing X-rated, just incase some of you have 'gone there'...

Any way, my favorite Trek toy? Those old micromachine collections. I still have most of them to this very day. My four year old son plays with them all the time. We love to have space battles. Sure, the scale is way off (Defiant/Borg cube are the same size) but even with that, they were cool.

I hope they get re-issued someday.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Most prized--the ultra rare 1701 Playmates Picard "Tapestry" figure. I managed to snag four of these at retail at various Spencer Gifts in my area. I avoided having to shell out the hundred or some cases thousand dollars to have one in my collection.

A favorite? Well I have so much stuff that'd be asking which is your favorite child.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Ummm..yeah...I saw one for sale once at an adult book store...My wife almost got it but i said...no...no way

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

I'm very fond of my Playmates TOS Communicator (I just need a phaser to go with it!!) and my Corgi 1701.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

The infamous Tracer Gun! I got mine in 1970 before I had seen all the TOS episodes, and I kept waiting for it to turn up in an episode.

And I'm still waiting . . .

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

The Playmates TNG tricorder. It's in scale, lights up, and makes the exact sounds as the one featured in the show...

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Oh, I forgot to mention my DEFIANT (though it is labled Reliant) Playmations toy that STILL makes noses and I have never had to replace the battery!!

Thats one of my favorites too. I got the Medical Tricorder to go with it.

Probably my ultrarare Enterprise-B still in the box. There were only a few of these produced.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

A die-cast metal Enterprise D that was done by Galoob in the late 80s. I'm mainly attached to this for sentimental reasons as it is the first Star Trek toy I remember owning.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Wormohole, I agree with you about the Galoob enterprise. I was at a toy store and my dad offered to get me one along with all of the galoob figures they had. I declined saying I didnt want one. I ended up eventually wanting the Enterprise D and had to wait to find it at a hobby show.
That said my favorite trek toy is the Playmates Geordi Laforge with removable visor. Apparently there were very few of these produced and mine is still in its original packaging.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

My Dinky die-cast Enterprise, its very battered though. it fought in many "battles" during my childhood :D

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

My playmates TOS Phaser and Communicator, I really, really want a TNG tricorder though.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Playmates Transporter & the action figure for Species 8472.

startrekwatcher, you suck!
I only say that because I'm jealous.
I managed a toy store during that period and I never found any of those 1701 figures in any of the cases we got in.

Same here. I think it's up there with some of the 'authentic' props.

I also like the Playmates DS9. It hung from the ceiling in my room for years, with some MicroMachines starships docked there.

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Ohhhh I remember it was for my sevententh, my mum got me atoy of the Goddard Shuttlecraft from TNG. It opened up and it you can see the control panels, a replicator (complete with a roasted chicken iirc) and on top of thet a mini La Forge and Troi! Suffice to say poor Geordi and Troi went missing soon after.

I should point out that I didn't play with it... well not much anyway!!!

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Mine is not really a toy.

I LOVE my Hallmark Ornament of DS9, with the little ships hanging off of it. You press the button and hear Avery Brooks.

By far my favorite Trek collectible. :)

Re: Your favorite STAR TREK toy

Ones I had growing up, the Corgi (?) Klingon ship and TOS Enterprise that shot yellow discs. Discs which you lose 90% of by the second day.

Also, TMP phaser squirt guns. They had a paper-based sitckers on them that naturally got soaked and peeled off.

And the 3 3/4" Star Trek 3 figures, which I ordered from a collectible place. Scotty was much thinner than his screen version. Also, no McCoy? WTF? How do you NOT make McCoy? They made Kruge, which was great (especially with the rubber dog, though sadly no disruptor), but not BONES? Also Shatner's likeness was not so great, but having Trek movie figures in Star Wars/80's GI JOE scale ruled. (Never had TMP figures), even if Ertl only made 4 characters.

Yep, I got the Playmates DS9 station too. I frequently had the MicroMachine Voyager docked there on the upper pylon. That DS9 toy was very well made and had incredible detail--it even had Sisko's office window on the Ops tower.
