Your Favorite Sitcoms

I'm not sure if these count as sitcoms, since they don't have laugh tracks, but The Red Green Show and Corner Gas tend to spring to mind..

Actually, Red Green does have laughs, but it's a studio audience. Which is actually part of the show. So I don't count that as a laugh track.
Corner Gas definitely meets the requirements for a sitcom. Red Green... sorta, but not quite. There is a framing story, but other elements that don't really have anything to do with it. Given that it's basically a spinoff of one of Steve Smith's characters from his old Smith & Smith comedy skit show, Red Green has done pretty well.

The Canadian sitcom I used to watch in the '70s was Excuse My French. It was about a man from Ontario (Peter) who married a woman from Quebec (Marie-Louise), and how they and their respective families tried to get along.

Three's Company
Nice to see someone finally mention something from back when sitcoms weren't so mean-spirited and bitter. I loved Three's Company, and The Ropers as well.

I Love Lucy
The best one of all, in my opinion. :techman:

For animated sitcoms, why no mention of The Flintstones?

While I enjoyed several of the American and Canadian sitcoms, I also liked some of the Britcoms. My dad got me hooked on Good Neighbors, and then I started watching Are You Being Served? and Keeping Up Appearances.

Seinfeld
The Office
Parks & Rec
Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister

Not a huge fan of the sitcom format because 90% of the time it implies cheesy.

-Frasier
-Parks and Rec
-Seinfeld
-Married With Children
-Raising Hope
-The Simpsons
-The Addams Family
-Are You Being Served?
-And even though I'm kinda iffy about whether it counts, Blackadder

Turns out I watch more sitcoms than I thought.

A-dorable.

:)

Here's what's on my temp hard drive, not to be confused with my actual hard drive for sitcoms.

I find few sitcoms make me laugh out loud, or tickle funny bone. But these are guaranteed to...

Green Wing
Black Books
Peep Show
Fawlty Towers (farce personified)
Parks & Rec (much prefer to The Office UK or US, though it paved the way)
Frasier (still some of the best ever verbal wit and perfect timing)
Lilith: I mapped out our dominant and recessive traits on a genome square, applied Mendel’s laws, allowed for anomalies, and concluded that you are the best biological choice.
Frasier: I see. Well, as enticed as I am by your honeyed words. I’m gonna need some kissin’.

Addams Family (still the best ever loving/dysfunctional family)

Lots of other s/c I admire for performance, longevity, chortles but wouldn't put in favorite.

Oh, having heard how great Lucille Ball was for many years, I finally watched some eps of 'I Love Lucy'. She was something else :)

Netflix Arrested Development

My tops.

Seinfeld - Best ever.
Arrested Development - Would be best ever but there is just so much more of Seinfeld.
Threes Company - John Ritter is awesome
Dick Van Dyke Show
I Love Lucy
30 Rock

For current shows, I do watch the Goldbergs and Last Man Standing when they are on. They remind me of the more kindhearted sitcoms of old.

There are so many:

I love Lucy
Mary Tyler Moore
Bewitched
Thee's Company
Cheers
Married ... with children
The Nanny
3rd Rock from the Sun
The Golden Girls
The Cosby Show
Roseanne
NewsRadio
Just Shoot Me
Frasier
Friends
Arrested Development
Will & Grace
Seinfeld
30 Rock

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

If I had to choose a top 5 right bow it would (in alphabetical order):

Cheers
I love Lucy
Married with children
Mary Tyler Moore
Seinfeld
