This thread is about your favorite sitcoms.

5. Scrubs

It was funny and it also can be sad as well because of the Hospital setting. The Cast was one of the best ever in television history. It had a great soundtrack.

4. The Office (US)

It had a a large quirky cast and you would wish your office was more like it in real life. I like that it was shot as a mockmentary.

3. How I Met Your Mother

The Friends 2.0. The writing was great except for the Barney and Robin love angle. It had an excellent cast and you can see the chemistry between the main cast members onscreen. It had a great soundtrack.

2. Friends

My favorite sitcom when i was a teenager. I loved the chemistry among the actors and the writing was excellent. HIMYM owns alot to Friends. It was my all time favorite sitcom till i started to regularly watch the next show on this list.

1. Seinfeld

To be honest, I only watched 1 or 2 episodes of it back in the 90s. I was not fan. I remember Dharma & Greg mentioning about the Seinfeld sitcom series finale. Maybe i was too young to appreciate the show back in the 90s.

One of my friends kept on praising the show so i decided to watch the show regularly 6 years ago and i realized how good it was. The cast worked extremely well with one another and the writing was the best. It was addicitve. i rewatch Seinfeld evey two years now.

Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer were characters with many faults and they were not exactly good people. That is the reason why the show was so funny. The show was about these selfish and self centered people getting into trouble.

Seinfeld and Friends for sure.

Also loved Community (in the beginning), Happy Endings, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (UK), Extras, and The Inbetweeners (UK). And in the '80s I loved Family Ties and Night Court. (And Get Smart, if that counts?)

Current faves are The Goldbergs, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Silicon Valley.

Frasier
30 Rock
Parks and Recreation
Seinfeld
The Office
The Big Bang Theory
Everybody Loves Raymond
Modern Family

It's too early to make the official list, but I am enjoying Life in Pieces so far as well.

The only ones I'm watching these days are Big Bang Theory, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and You're the Worst.

(Although I forget about that last one sometimes since it's buried on FXX, in the lower reaches of my basic-cable package.)

That show was great in its first season and now -- with them tackling Gretchen's depression in such a raw and honest way -- they've elevated into a whole new level of greatness. I wish more people would watch this show.

Aya Cash deserves some Emmy recognition after this season. The rest of the cast are no slouches either.

See, my wife and I feel the exact opposite. We loved the show when it began. Just loved it! Now, they've fundamentally changed the tone and character of the show, and we hate it. We've stopped watching.

We really enjoyed the drunken crazy shenanigans, watching these two idiots try desperately not to fall in love (even though they obviously already had!) but this is...just not funny. She is seriously mentally ill and we feel sad and terrible for her...Not what we are looking for in a sitcom.

To each his/her own, of course.

BTW: in my haste to type up my list this morning, I made one glaring oversight, which I now mean to correct:

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

I'm not sure if these count as sitcoms, since they don't have laugh tracks, but The Red Green Show and Corner Gas tend to spring to mind..

Actually, Red Green does have laughs, but it's a studio audience. Which is actually part of the show. So I don't count that as a laugh track.

I don't generally like sitcoms but these were good and/or made an impression on me...

Arrested Development
Cheers
Curb Your Enthusiasm
How I Met Your Mother
Married... With Children
Seinfeld
Three's Company

I will probably forget some, but I love sitcoms. Here's some I've really enjoyed at one time or another:

3rd Rock From The Sun
30 Rock
Arrested Development
The Big Bang Theory
Cheers
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Frasier
Friends
The Golden Girls
How I Met Your Mother
My Name Is Earl
Roseanne
Scrubs
Seinfeld
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Will and Grace

Oh and if we went down the animated route, there would also be:

Family Guy
Futurama
King of the Hill
The Simpsons
South Park

Three's Company
Dennis the Menace
The Andy Griffith Show
Freaks and Geeks (not sure if this counts as a sitcom)
Undeclared
Enlisted
Parker Lewis Can't Lose
Raising Hope
Martin
Gomer Pyle USMC
My Name Is Earl
The Goldbergs

The Big Bang Theroy
Two Broke Girls
Mike and Molly
Seinfeld
The Cosby Show
Roseanne
The Golden Girls
Living Single

All time?! Oh man, so many to choose from.

Arrested Development. Seinfeld. 30 Rock. How I Met Your Mother. Office US. Scrubs. Big Bang. Frasier. Friends.

I consider animated shows to be a separate category... Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy...
