I'll be glad to tell you. I lurked for a good year before I joined as Outpost4 (I had another screen name but I never posted). While I was lurking, I created this piece which I emailed to Warped9 because I admired his picture manipulations. I had to do a ton of photo manipulation to get the four pictures to match, especially the first two pictures with the last two. In the original shot, there is always a cut away before the launch. The camera POV is different in the launch with a different, zoom lens and different lighting. I wanted Warped9 to see it. 1280x960 version of the sequenceInspector Clouseau said:

but the rest of you geeks should also know if it wasn't for Warped9, I wouldn't be here.
If you don't mind me asking, how did he cause you to be here?

He liked it and encouraged me to contribute. I also was very impressed with his warmth and generosity. I thought if the people behind the screen names are as nice as Ray, I'd like it here.
Soon I had created this sequence. I really wanted to post it. I found a topic I could tell a personal experience about (trying unsuccessfully to turn my mother into a Trekkie on the NBC rerun of Let This Be Your Last Battlefield) and I made my first post. It turned out while I soon did post the hanger deck launch sequence, it was over a year until I posted the one from The Cage. 2048x1536 version of this sequence

And by the way, my first impressions were right on all counts. I have always appreciated Warped9 and his often correct and surely informed opinions. He is also a plain good guy, caring and thoughtful. And folks who don't see that are confusing his unforgiving perspective with a very forgiving soul. But more so, in 95% of the cases, I have found the members of this board to be warm, kind and generous in spirit. Trekkies are good people.
