Your favorite planet ?

Unfortunately, I (the late Matt Decker) liked the third planet in system L-374.

Earth. Earth is a sustainable melting pot, with immigrants and Starfleeters bringing in the best/widest variety from every place else. Want to have a night out with your friends (of diverse species), discussing the various starship propulsion technologies used by different groups while dining on Korean BBQ served with a side of plomeek soup? And then hit the bar for a Cardassian Sunrise with a Guinness chaser, dance the night away to Andorian synth pop - and at some point get into a BS argument about what might happen if the Catholic Church decided to send missionaries to the Klingon homeworld? I'll bet you could do that in 23rd century SanFran - and probably see people doing similar on a regular basis.

Every other place we saw was either a monoculture, or a station or someplace like the Shore Leave planet, where if the machinery fails things go to hell pretty quick. No thanks. The only other option of where to live for me would be aboard a ship where I could travel around at will - and still probably end up at Earth a lot.

Talking about the Cage so much lately, puts me in mind of Starbase 11. While not my favorite, it was definitely pretty funky/exotic looking, depending on the version. Also Crewman Piper's rather dreamy, disconnected line reading added to the fantasy feeling for me.

The planet the Guardian of Forever was on. They did a good job of creating the illusion of a vast, ruined ancient city with the howling wind and all. If a person could find a giant, time-traveling donut in the ruins, what other goodies are waiting to be discovered??

For obvious reasons, I'm kind of partial to Delta Vega. Since I'm stuck here I had better make the best of it.

Well, what's the worst thing about your situation? The fact you didn't get to morph the planet as you wanted to or that Kirk's grave marker is covering your head? :)

Mars, where the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards were/are. Christ on a Crutch, how cool would it be to see Star Fleet Engineers and related staff design, create and assemble Starships?

Specifically, in the hills overlooking the Yards, in a 1957 Chevy, of course!

(No HoverConversion, thank you ...)

The Shore Leave planet would be the most fun.
Or the most terrifying. You'd have to be careful of your thoughts.

If Ekos and Zeon remained peaceful and have had fifty years of development. They might be interesting places to visit now.
The "Shore Leave" planet might be a fascinating place to visit. But it's in desperate need of some hotels.
Just imagine some and they'll be built in a second or two.

I wonder what would happen if two people imagined-up conflicting objects at the same time on the same patch of ground?

It would be interesting from an archaeologist's point of view to study the planet, but having access to all of history is what would appeal the most to me.

I dug myself out a loong time ago. You should see all the kafarian apple orchards. There's also a bitchin' beach resort.

I would find it amusing to find the basis for holodeck technology was reverse engineered from the Shore Leave planet's tech.

What was poignant to me is that no one turned it off. This incredible dying race, capable of building this magnificent self-aware/sentient time portal- and no one turned him off.

How long has this machine just been sitting there... waiting?

Favorite?

Mudds planet. Like Raisa, only with twins.

Any twin you want, as long as you got the specs.

Oh, and I'm leaving the specs on the ex back on the ship. Mudd was some sort of masochist.

.

I think its first words,"since before your sun burned hot in space and before your race was born, I have awaited a question", pretty much provide the answer to that matter.

If the Providers really wanted to rake in the quatloos, they would turn Triskelion into an S&M planet. Think about it - barely clad Thralls (both male and female), whips, chains, discipline collars, domination....

And we thought the planet from "Shore Leave" was a pleasure planet...

What happens when you go to the Shore Leave planet and imagine that you're a starship Captain on the bridge of your ship?
I guess you start hearing strange noises and smoke starts pouring from the ground.
