Crusher. Goddammit. Crusher.

No episode of TNG frustrated me more than "Attached." It was such a perfect opportunity to establish that relationship FINALLY. But they relented. It's not like they would've had to address it every episode. UGH. Come on already.

I'm implying that the quote:

is somewhat trolling.
Ahhh, OK. Again, as a certified "Old Person (70)" I didn't take offense. We don't take any videos though. Funny thing is, our adult children stick their fingers in their ears and hum really loudly if we start to even allude to such activity.

I like the Vash/Picard dynamic. I don't know if it could have been the basis of something lasting, though.

As controversial as Q-pid is, in terms of whether it's a quality episode, or not, it does bring home that fact that Vash brought out the very best in Picard. She was good for him, that's certain. But she wasn't the only one. Had Phillipa Louvois not been so sexually aggressive towards him, and been a Captain stuck in a sedentary position in a JAG office, she might've been good for Picard, as well.

There is no suggestion in canon Starfleet captains are to remain monks for the remainder of a five year voyage. Its not practical, realistic ...
They wouldn't need to remain as monks for a five year voyage. They could still have their significant other on the ship with them, live with them, etc. They just wouldn't be able to have them serve under them as a crew member on that ship. But...

plus basing Starfleet completely on real life human cultural mores would not be acceptable to the other species in the Federation./QUOTE]
That's a very good point. I hadn't thought of that, and it's very likely considering all the different life forms they meet, and how Starfleet is comprised of a wide variety of different species.
That said, I'm sure there are species that would have a lot of different customs that would clash with Starfleet regulations, and I think it would be impractical to accommodate them every single time. So, I'm assuming some regulations would have to be enforced in spite of other species' cultures.

Vash
Neela Darren
Beverly Crusher

All three of those were great matches for Picard. Especially the two redheads, and he had his eye on Beverly for a hell of a long time.

What's "cool" about Picard and his love interests is that Sir Patrick Stewart was the only Captain in the franchise who actually worked out. Not enough to get big and brawny, or anything like that. But he did everything he reasonably could to keep himself appearing virile to the fairer sex. So, seeing him with some of the most impressive beauties in the Galaxy was still a stretch, but not as far as it might've been. It was like a Hail Mary pass ...

Assuming you are male and not female Patrick Stewart was/is an attractive man for the ladies, most women don't have an issue with baldness and are not into 'pretty' men. He is intelligent, has a decent body, a sexy accent, he does not need to stretch or need any 'Hail Mary' pass.

I'm sure that the French Trekkies out there appreciated the suggestion that their sexy language was completely replaced by English, can't help you -- English!!! A Yorkshire accent for La Barre ... a Cockney accent for Abbeville ... and so on.

It could be worse, they could have a Mexican playing a Sikh Indian or an English red haired man with dyed hair and a posh accent playing a Sikh lol
Both Uhuras are Kenyans with an American accent...maybe she picked it up at Starfleet go figure
