Your favorite non-starfleet human(s)

I don't know of many non-starfleet humans as the shows didn't focus on them but of the ones remembered; Jake Sisco's concept of a writer/reporter was interesting; Keiko's deep space motherly troubles had it's moments; and the adventures of the archaeologist/thief Vash was fun.

I liked Jake Sisko.

I also liked Dr. Bashir's father. I like that he was portrayed as a regular, less than perfect human. He'd never accomplished anything particularly grand, and had held down quite a few different jobs in his life.

The lawyer who defended Kirk is TOS (someone help me with his name) was also a pretty interesting chap.

Samuel T. Cogley

Joseph Sisko, Benjamin Sisko's father, is pretty cool and old fashioned.

I'm surprised with all the non'starfleet personnel on the Enterprise D, I can't think of any in particular.

Cyrano Jones, the trader from "The Trouble With Tribbles" was funny.

Second vote for Samuel T. Cogley. A very interesting character portrayed by an interesting actor.

Ah yes, Elisha Cook Jr. - a favorite of mine. Loved him in Maltese Falcan . . . among others.

Yeah, put me down for Mr. Cogley too. I really enjoyed the character's turn in the second DC series 3-parter, The Trial of James T. Kirk. I thought it was great how Peter David hooked him up (spoiler?) with Areel Shaw. Though they changed the characters name slightly, to Cogsley. I don't know if that was a legal issue or not . . . I always wondered about that.

I doubt there would have been any legal issues. Probably just a mistake.

I really liked Edith Keeler. Liking her made my favorite TOS episode, The City on the Edge of Forever, even more poignant.

BOOTHBYYYYYYYYY!!!!

And if course Khan!!
I like Benji Sisko's dad as well. And Rene Picard is pretty cute.

Robert Picard
"Row-Bear" is top of my list. He had a contentious relationship with his brother, but you could tell that he absolutely adored his wife and son.

A good hard working man of the soil.

:)

Zefram Cochrane is pretty cool (both who portrayed him but I like James Cromwell better).

Honorable mentions: Noonian Soong and Mark Twain.
