I seem to recall that a while back, there was some debate about that. So I figured I'd make it clear.
The only debate I can recall was for the Ang Lee Hulk movie and whether or not The Incredible Hulk could be considered a loose sequel. There was never any question as to whether or not TIH was part of the MCU.

Maybe Guardians but as a kind of cult B-movie I have huge respect for Blade, before Avengers or Spider-Man, KickAss, or the Xmens it was Blade that got the ball rolling in the early 90s

I think before the first Avengers came out some people speculated that TIH was going to be ignored because of the recasting. However since then, there have been plenty of references to it in other MCU movies and tv shows.

Yes. Just like the first Iron Man was ignored once they recast Rhodey. ;)

Yeah, the MCU (currently what's in the poll) are apart of Universal. Fox owns X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four and Sony owns Spider-Man though now Sony made a deal with Universal so they can use him.

On TV, the MCU also includes Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones.

And the new characters/movies/shows to be added to the MCU; Doctor Strange, Luke Cage, Iron Fist (or Moon Knight rumored), Black Panter, Captain Marvel (female version), and the Inhumans.

The Punisher (which was Lion's Gate but they sold the rights back to Universal) may get a series on Netflix with Daredevil, Luke, Jessica, and Fist.

Actually, I think Universal is only connected to the Hulk, and then only with distribution for a solo Hulk movie. Disney owns Marvel, and the MCU, not Universal (and Universal isn't owned by Disney or anything).

When did Universal ever own The Punisher?

The current standing (as far as I understand it) is like this:

Fox - X-Men (and related titles), and Fantastic Four.
Universal - Distribution on Hulk and a slice of Namor.
Sony - Spider-Man.
Disney/Marvel - Everything else.

This is correct.

Deadpool isn't part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's from the Fox made properties.

Sadly, I find that even a lot of mainstream movie reviewers are missing that distinction, praising "Marvel" for striking out in a new direction with DEADPOOL, and speculating about whether Deadpool will show up in the next AVENGERS pic, even though DEADPOOL is more accurately spun off from Fox's X-MEN franchise . . ..

If only Deadpool was one of the 'shared' characters like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch ;

‘Hi folks, let's see, who are we with this time - mutants or Avengers ? And just whose helicarrier is this anyway ?'
