Just a broad question: what websites do you visit for your daily news and media diet, and why?

Thanks.

I pretty much get all my news here. It's one reason I'm fairly out of touch with the outside world.

I use Google Homepage to scan a bunch of RSS feeds (listed below). I don't really make a habit of visiting a bunch of news sites daily, although I do check Drudge often because it doesn't have a proper RSS feed. I generally check facebook, TrekBBS, Head-Fi, [H]ard|Forum, e-mail and eBay a couple times a day. The list should adequately reflect my interests.

Pretty much here, and Rushtour.com

Oh, and Holdfast got me addicted to The Superficial.

For actual news, I stick to my local pages.

I also visit an assortment of Mac-oriented RSS sites for computer stuff. These include AppleInsider, MacWorld, Macintouch, Mac Observer, etc.

I'm an admin at www.engineerboards.com. It's a prep site for people taking the Professional Engineer's licensing exam, and to post technical questions when you get stumped. I spend a lot of time there this time of year as the semi-annual exam day is tomorrow.

Hmmm ... Trekbbs.com, jmsnews.net, imdb.com, briankeene.com, theomahachannel.com, ebay.com, wowt.com, gofobo.com, livejournal.com, google.com, cnn.com, sliceofscifi.com, that's it for the ones I visit (just about) daily. There are others I visit once a week or less, like scifihobby.com.

I get all my news from TNZ, my impression of society comes from Misc., and my understand of science comes from the SciTech forum here.

Suffice it to say, I am posting this from a concrete-and-steel reinforced bunker in an undisclosed location, having beans out of a can for dinner. The world outside seems a terrifying place.
