your COMMAND center

Okay..we all know what I am talking about...your media center command!!! Where you do your gaming/tv watching...what kind of set-up do you have....Here is what I have..

For XMAS I got myself a 32" LCD TV to go with my media command center. So now, I have my Computer, which I got last march, sony vaio, with my 24" rectangular flatscreen..I have my Bose Sound system, a relic which I got four years ago but STILL perfoms above and beyond call...My wife, bless her heard, found a L shaped desk on CRAIGS LIST...

I actuall call it a V desk, since I sit at the apex. With TV on one side of me, MONITOR on the other side...As some of you know I love comic books, so she took some of my comics, cut them up, and made three collagues of the pictures...really awesom job...and yesterday, when I came home, i was surprised that she had taken my large TREK toys (DEFIANT--VORCHA--ENTERPRISE D--ENTERPRISE A and ENTERPRISE B) and had put them all on the wall right were my desk is...incredible woman she is...

I have my Roland Keyboard (yeah, I play keyboard...I am a lounge lizzard) behind me, all hooked up to my Sessions/Magix hardware..and my mic-stand at the ready...

That is my media center Command post...what is yours like???

My brand new 47" LCD sits in front of me with my rear parked on a daybed/sofa. My computer(wireless keyboard) is wired to the TV, along with the dvd, dvr, and 360. Everything is piped through 5.1 Dolby Surround. My coffee table holds my single remote, 360 controller and my Halo Juice(usually Bud Light). Good to go!

Nice..I love it Mistral..I forgot to mention my 360..are you online with your 360? We should chat sometime...CK- Scorpio is my 'handle'...

I need to go wireless with my keyboard/mouse. I have been putting that off for years, but reading your post, has inspired me to get on the ball with that...47"? Hmmmmmm....my daughter wants my TV. her birthday is in April, so perhaps I will trade up then...

If you are going to upgrade, Costco has a 46" Toshiba that is to die for-it has more in/out plugs than anything else in its price range and a special refresh rate "cutout" for gaming. Sadly, Costco doesn't take VISA-and mine was an emergency replacement purchase the day after Black Friday-I was cash-poor at the time so I went to WallyWorld for a Phillips instead...

My handle is Cable(and a number I won't disclose here)-watch for a friend invite w/message in the near future!

Cool..I will remember that..and I can tell we both like the in/out plugs...My first HDTV, which I still have, is a 52' plasma I got in 2005. It still works like a charm, but is getting long in the tooth. But the in/out plugs are limited to Component/DVI..thats it....amazing how far we have come...

Sony 5.1 Receiver
Polk Audio 5.1 Speaker System w/ 12" Powered Subwoofer

Alright, so I've got a 46" Full HD Sony Bravia in the center. It's hooked up to a PS3 (I love that thing) which I use for gaming and watching Blu-rays. I also have a 1080p DVD player and a VCR connected to the telly.

I've upgraded my PC since these pics were taken (which was about six months ago). So now I have a Core2Duo E8200 with 4GB of RAM, a total of 1.5TB of hard drives (500GB external, 500GB, 320GB, and 200GB internal), a GeForce 9600GT card and a couple of other things. I also got a new computer monitor, a 22" Samsung 2253BW.

I have everything (PC, TV, PS3, DVD player) hooked up to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 setup. That's about it I guess. My Blu-ray, PS3 games, and TV on DVD collections have grown considerably since then.

The current stats for my collection are:
- 76 Blu-ray titles (10 TV, 66 movies) + plus 5 on order
- 280 DVD titles (127 TV, 153 movies)
- 28 PS3 games (21 on BD, 7 from the PSN)

I humbly bow to your awesomeness. I had my "man room" taken away when we moved from a house to a smaller apartment (tradeoff of a bigger old house for a MUCH nicer smaller apartment) :( You get MAD props for your setup dude!

We're having a custom TV stand built right now by my father-in-law that holds 1200 DVDs. Right now, for the last 6 months or so, all my media has been stacked in piles on the floor in our living room. Once this is all up in a couple of weeks, I'll take some pics and post them :) Right now, it's not so impressive looking.

hey, Bigfoot-how thick are your glasses? Sitting that close to that big of a tv-doesn't it melt your retinas? You have a cool set-up, though.

Thanks! :) And that 1200 DVD stand sounds sweet. ;)

Hehe. ;) At the moment, my couch is 2.5m (a little over 8') away from the telly. When I'm watching blu-rays I actually move the couch to about 1.8m (less then 6') from the TV. It's awesome. :D

I have two 'offices' in my home, one dedicated to work because I have this amazing ability to always find something better to do than work, and my personal, recreational use office. Here's my play office, which has a sign on the door called "the rubber room," which was a house warming gift:

Pardon the lighting, I was monkeying with the settings on my camera the other day, and I couldn't figure out how to revert them to default.

edit: no idea why the image isn't showing up, here's a link.

I like the post-it note wallpaper!:techman:
