Your Bottom 5 TNG

On most boards I read the typical Top5. Nothing wrong with that. But I think it would be interesting if people listed their personal worst 5 TNG episodes.

Here are mine:

5. Time Squared - I just don't get it...
4. Masks - Why was Season 7 so weird?
3. Time's Arrow, part II - What a letdown!
2. The Neutral Zone - Other than, "We are back!" the episode is pointless.
1. Shades of Gray - This will probably make most, if not all, lists.

1. Code of Honor
2. Haven
3. Angel One
4. Aquiel
5. Shades of Gray

Something like that.

Justice
Sub Rosa
Shades of Grey
The Game
Remember Me
Code of Honor

That's off the top of my head. These are all pretty bad. What's funny is that I'll still watch and generally enjoy them regardless lol. The only two TNG episodes I find completely unwatchable are "Sub Rosa" and "Shades of Grey (not an episode)."

In no particular order:

Inner Light
Yesterday's Enterprise
Best of Both Worlds
All Good Things...
Darmok

...gotcha. :)

Sub Rosa! How did I forget that dreck? I see there isn't much love for Time's Arrow, which I find strange as it was one of a few episodes that helped me to get into the series.

I take it like this: if you like one of the sucky episodes, then you'll love the mediocre episodes, and you'll be absolutely floored with the best episodes!

These are so bad, they don't deserve being put in any kind of order:

1.04 - Code of Honor
1.16 - Too Short A Season
4.20 - QPid
5.06 - The Game
5.12 - Violations

1. Shades Of Gray - one of the few that you could argue may not even count as an episode.
2. Sub Rosa - dear god. I dont even know what this is supposed to be.
3. Code Of Honor - just embarrassing.
4. Lonely Among Us - the definition of "uneventful" and "meaningless".
5. The Dauphin - laaaaaaaame.

That one where Worf left the ship and murdered a Klingon on another ship. Gene Roddenberry would have been spitting tacks.

Any TNG episode that deals with Klingon politics on the Homwworld, or off it.

Borr-ring!!!

Klingon politics episodes were among the best of TNG. One of the very few actual storyarcs on the show.

Star Trek is supposed to be about going forward, not backward.

Feudalism bores the hell out of me. I don't think 24th Century people would be all that interested in dealing with it and appointing Picard as an adjudicator in a Klingon dispute is laughable. I'm sure he would have better things to do.

I think a universe where everyone was going forward, forward, forward all the time and everyone was wonderful and evolved and progressive, would make for a pretty boring TV. In a story about progress, it's the conflict and the danger of negative and backward forces prevailing that drives the drama.

That's a point. :techman:

But, I like that line from the song One Vision, by Queen: 'No hate, no fight, just excitation!:)'
