Anyone else see the recent "Young Sheldon" episode to feature Sheldon watching TOS with his Meemaw? Features scenes from "Return of the Archons."

Sheldon thought Spock, not Kirk, was "the main guy" of the show.
What I found interesting was that Young Sheldon had to simulate what Star Trek looked like on TV in 1989. Star Trek had had its first re-mastering by then, so we were past the days of worn-out 16mm syndication prints. But even so, the picture and color quality on Sheldon's TV were pretty dazzling for the period. It was just plausible, given the finest CRT set ever made, with the color and contrast adjusted to a vivid intensity, and the sharpest signal reception coming in that anybody ever saw.

My Wife said the same to me years ago that she remembered Spock and McCoy but not Shatner on the series! They must look through scratched glasses not see the Shat I guess!

That's actually really cute, and I don't even watch this show, or like its progenitor the Big Bang Theory either, for that matter.
The show is set in 1989 or something, so the 2006 fx would be a screaming anachonism. But only to us, so you're right, they could have screwed it up and they didn't.
I hope this little "ad" spurs some well-deserved sales of the Blu-ray box. CBS also did a damn fine job on the original Twilight Zone Blu-ray set.

I find Big Bang one of the most overrated shows in the history of modern TV and I still enjoyed that clip. Doesn't hurt that ROTA is one of my top 15-20 favorite eps.
Next up for the 2018 fall television line up....Old Sheldon.
You're probably not far off there.
Old Sheldon will have a walking frame with wheels, powered by a mixture of pond algae and Everclear... or the amount of Everclear left over from his latest binge.
My ex, who was anything but Sheldon, could have drank a liter or two of that and likely not even flinch, much less remember what he was doing or why or why he slept all the time or stumbled or blamed everyone else for the smallest things they had no control over...Oi, I almost resemble that remark! But it didn't stop me from giggling, I'll admit...
The way human life expectancy is going, "Old" will soon mean 120 anyway. I wonder what might happen if the expectancy indicator ever goes down...
I still like tube televisions.
