You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book? (ST: The Art of the Film)

You just might get one.

Star Trek: The Art of the Film has just appeared on Amazon. The UK listing does not have a pre-order option as yet, although the US one does. It has a release date of November 17th (the same week as the DVD/Blu-ray), and comes from Titan Books, who usually do a good job on these movie/TV art/companion releases - the listed author has done a lot of their previous releases.

Excellent !!!

I love concept art and Church said in a recent interview that he created a lot of stuff that didn't make it into the movie. I hope some of that also makes it into the book.

SWEEEET, I can't wait !!!!!!!! Nov 17 will be this year's christmas

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

November is going 2 be a skint wallet day but still great news !!!

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

I better start stashing in the savings account now.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

It should have some drop in price at Amazon at some point.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

Perfect timing. My birthday is in november. Something else to put on my wish list!

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

Awesome!

But what I'm REALLY waiting on is a new update to the CHRONOLOGY and ENCYCLOPEDIA that includes the final two seasons of VOYAGER, all of ENT, NEMESIS and TREK XI all in one pair of glossy, snazzy volumes.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

I didnt stick with Ent. Is there even a companion/compendium for that series?

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

Not that I recall. I think VOYAGER was the last series to get an updated episode compendium, and that was around 1999 or 2000.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

Yeah, that one i have.
The chapter for Nemesis would be two pages long. If that.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

And toss in the last 52 episodes of VOYAGER, 98 ENTERPRISEs and two big-budget movies and that book will be a lot fatter than previous incarnations. Just the chronology book alone would swell tremendously because of all the 22nd century data added for the prequel series.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

i kinda doubt anyone will be updating those books though with the time/work etc involved.

I could see it being done IF the second movie scores.

However, personally, i would LOVE it if it happened.

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

I'd happily buy both if Pocket Books ever comes through for all the fans who've waited almost an entire decade. Ugh!

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

Yeah, i just looked at my Encyclopedia. It is dated 1994!

Oh Mr and Mrs Okuda....... are you guys busy?????

Re: You wanted a STXI behind the scenes book?

Pocket Books doesn't want to do anymore of the reference books since they haven't sold well (explaining why the Trek XI is being done by Titan). That's not to say that a new Encyclopedia wouldn't sell well.
