You own what???

PC
360

I don't own a Wii but there is one in the house and I have brought 2 gamecube controllers for it and Streets of Rage on Virtual Console.

NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Wii

Playstation
Playstation 2
Playstation 2 Slim
Playstation 3

Gameboy
Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo DS

Sony PSP

Xbox 360 (my favorite at the moment), Wii (hardly getting used, really), PC (mainly the workhorse but good for the odd Starcraft match).

The PS3 Slim has finally got me more interested in the PS3 as a CONSOLE (Take that, Sony! It's a CONSOLE! - sorry...). It finally looks half decent, and the price is a lot better as well. I'm not in a hurry to pick one up just yet. But it's more likely to find its way into my home sometime along the line.

Oh why not.

In order of acquisition:

Sega Master System
Game Boy
386 PC
SNES
Pentium PC w/ 3dfx Voodoo card
Playstation
N64
Pentium 4 PC w/ some Asus Nvidia card
Dell Inspiron 8200 (P4M, GeForce 6800)
Dell XPS Gen 2 (P4M, GeForce 7800)
Nintendo DS
Xbox 360
Playstation 3
Wii
Nintendo DSi
PSP-2000
Three laptops - one junker and two with Core2Duo 2 GHz CPUs and GeForce 9600s.

I think that's it anyway.

Pfff... If I had to start chronologically I would start with an Atari 2600, then an IBM Clone 8088 processor... So let's stick with actuals:
Wii w/ Fit board (Wii motion plus is the next accessory on my list)
PC (E2200 Intel w/ 2GB RAM)

We just got a WII but lost the owner's manual. Can I play SEGA games, or Game Cube games with it??

Rob

My big thing is my PC. Use it for a lot of different things, but designed it with gaming capabilities in mind.

Isn't it amazing, when reading the responces, how much tech we have now? I remember the 70s when all we had was, if you were lucky, PONG. And now? My five year old son asked me what did we do for fun back then? Made me laugh. Books!!!! (well, and a lot of PLAYBOYS too)

Rob

You mean... you mean technology has advanced in 30+ years?! No way!

God, I'm going to sound like such a geek now, but I'd like to point out that only four of these are actually set up (which I've bolded):

Playstation 3
Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii

Playstation 2
Sega Dreamcast
Xbox
Nintendo Gamecube
Playstation
Sega Saturn
N64
Sega Mega-CD
SNES
Megadrive
NES
Master System
Amiga 500
Sega Game Gear
PSP
Nintendo Gameboy
Gameboy Colour
Gameboy Advance
DS
Handheld Megadrive

I think that's everything I own, almost all of it's in the loft, 'cept for the ones that are set up, and the Megadrive, which is sitting in it's box in the corner of the room.

I'm sure I forgot some in that list, I'll edit it if I remember more. Was there such a thing as an Atari Jaguar or something like that? I'm sure I have something called that in my loft, but it's 3 floors up and I don't want to check, lol.

wow..i am impressed. Pretty cool that you have kept it all over the years..are they the ones you bought at the time they came out?? or did you get them more later?

Rob

Mostly I got them when the came out (or a year or so after). I bought the SNES about a week ago as my old one broke a few years back. The Saturn and the Dreamcast I bought on the same day around a year ago, and I'm pretty sure everything else I've just kept over the years, they all clutter my parents loft (can't be bothered to move them with me), and they constantly ask me to move it, or they'll sell it, so I need to do something soon xD.

I also bought 2 SNES controllers this week, still sealed in the box, wicked.

(Not counting the PC, which has NES, SNES, and N64 emulators on it ATM)

NES
Sega Genesis
N64
XBOX (Original)

The last two systems are ready to play VIA an input switch box. I've also managed to procure the HD input cables for both (though that's only when I have the time and inclination to use my 22" 720p HDTV, normally they're hooked up to our giant JVC AV-36330, which is still kicking.)

Rob

You can play GameCube games and if by SEGA games you mean SMS and Genesis games, then you can if you go through nefarious means or if you buy the ones available on the WiiShop Channel.

Thanks for the tip! I went out and found Altered Beast..I LOVED this game....the game I want to find is called Populus and a strange space game where you had to negotiate with an android race..a jelly race...and others, while trying to solve a mystery and finding earth...whew...

Rob

I'm not sure who owns Populous nowadays.... I want to say EA, but I'm not sure. Either way, it seems like most American publishers have avoided/have been shut out of the Virtual Console for some reason.

Systems currently in my house:
XBOX 360
PS2
PSP
DS
Wii
Super Nintendo

and thinking of buying a PS3 somewhere down the road.

These days I do all my gaming on the PC.

What I have:
Playstation 2
Super Nintedo

I think I also have a Gameboy Pocket someplace.

In the past I also had a Playstation, Nintedo 64, and the original Gameboy.

GameCube (yes I still play it a lot, so many awesome games, all my Resident Evil games are on this, plus F-Zero, which may still be my favorite racing game of all time.

I was playing F-Zero GX the other day. I'm still greatly impressed with that title's graphics.

N64, GameCube, 360, PC and laptop

N64? Yours still works? I started having trouble with mine and sold it years ago for like 15 bucks...wow.

rob

Don't be hatin' on the N64, mang! I love that console. It had the best FPS & Racing titles of that time.

OMG EXTREME GIRL GAMER ALERT.

-Atari
-NES
-SNES
-N64
-GC
-DC
-Genesis
-Saturn
-X-box
-X360
-PS1
-PS2
-PS3
-NDS
-Wii
-PC

Had a Gameboy, got rid of it.

I was beginning to fall in love until you said that you got rid of the GameBoy. Now, I'm not so sure how to feel anymore. :(

Anyway, here's what I have in the collection right now.

Atari-related

  • Atari Flashback 1
  • Jack's Pacific TV Games: Activision
  • Jack's Pacific TV Games: Atari 2600
  • Jack's Pacific TV Games: Atari Paddles
Nintendo

  • NES
  • SNES
  • N64
  • GameCube
  • Wii
  • GBA
  • GBASP
  • DS original
  • e-Reader (Yes, I went out and got one, just out of Nintendo love. Those of you who didn't do not know what you missed.)
Everything Else

  • Jack's Pacific TV Games: Mortal Kombat
  • Magnavox Odyssey 3000 (Currently broken :()
  • Microsoft XBOX
  • Sega Genesis
  • Several PC's capable of playing games both new and old
And the stuff I once had and sold/lost/whatever over the years...

  • A few of those crappy Tiger Handheld games
  • Atari 2600
  • Atari 7800
  • Atari Jaguar
  • Atari Jaguar CD
  • Nintendo Game Boy (original)
  • Nintendo Game Boy Color
  • Sega Genesis 32X
  • Sony PS1
  • Sony PS2
So, what do I win for being the biggest collector/nerd here? :p

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have the N64, GameCube, Wii & XBOX plugged into the TV with a switchbox or, in the Wii's case, plugged int othe TV's front AV ports.

GameCube (yes I still play it a lot, so many awesome games, all my Resident Evil games are on this, plus F-Zero, which may still be my favorite racing game of all time.

Honestly, I'm much happier with F-Zero X overall in the graphics department. As far as the menu screens go, GX looks more "polished" than X, but the final product still comes off as a cluttered, dull, and overdone. As for the racing, the mechanics seem the same, but the visual presentation in both the racing HUD and the track designs seem bland and claustrophobic somehow. You could honestly characterize X's approach as more "gay" in terms of color palette, but somehow that seems to be more congruous to the F-Zero series' gameplay style than GX's more "metal" take. Speaking of "metal", GX's music was piss-awful.

Tangental, I know, but I have an un-natural crush on F-Zero X.:p

EDIT: Wrong system. The Xbox has component cables. My bad.

Anyway, what I should have asked was if you ever played Goldeneye or Perfect Dark on an HDTV with the 16:9 settings?
