You can add any Treklit only character to the next movie...

None. Why ruin the options of the (book) authors with the characters for what most likely would be a one-time cameo. Once the character would be in the movie, the novels would be bound to adhere to whatever the film has established about the character.

If the character was a part of a prime universe story line, why would that character be effected by their "counterpart" appearing in a movie set in a alternate universe?

:)

The Brikar would fit really well into the Trek movieverse.

I'd love to see a live action version of Final Frontier/Best Destiny Robert April, but that'll never happen. And he was a TAS character first.

Because in that case it wouldn't be the lit character, just a character with the same name?

The Time To... novels expanded on Padraig Daniels and especially Kell Perim despite being on screen small roles (as well as worked around Wesley's unfortunate cameo in nemesis), so a cameo wouldn't have been a bad thing.

I'd add Vanguard's T'Prynn. She's a great character that would add a much needed strong female presence. I'm not knocking Uhura, but her whole character focus is on her relationship. The main continuity version wouldn't be affected by the JJ-verse version.

A passing remark about a lieutenant Elias Vaughn would be nice. He was one of the best things to ever come out of TrekLit, and I really hope some of his stories with SI can still be told one day. :)

Actually, I would take a bit of a different route and add the four Andorian genders and gender-related naming practices, mainly because I think they're cool.

Her.
Elias Vaughn. Because he's Elias Vaughn.
Or him. Or maybe even both of them, they were partners after all.
