Yoko Tsuno - Any other readers?

This is probably not going to go very far, since this is an anglophone board and translations are spotty, but does/has anybody else here read the Yoko Tsuno BD series? The other thread made me think of it again, how much I loved these science-fiction tales when I was younger. For those unfamiliar with the books, they revolve around an multitalented electrical engineer who, along with her friends--and, eventually, adopted daughter--gets into a series of adventures always revolving around cutting-edge technology or beyond, as some of recurring plot threads involve alien migrants and their planet, or a time machine. The artwork was also very good, a combination of pulpy (colored spheres, wiring, retro-industrial chic in space) and realistic landscapes and cityscapes.

If anybody does read these, what did you think of the most recent books? I couldn't get into them the way I remembered being enthralled by the earlier ones. I don't know if it's just a question of nostalgia and the difference in reading children's books as a child and as an adult, or if there's actually been a downturn in quality, but I felt like the plotting was wonky.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Yes, when i was a kid I collected the issues (well until the early nineties with The Rhine Gold). I liked the silly science of the comic book. i agree with you, Yoko Tsuno is very pulpy.
And Yoko is hot! :)

That she was, although it was always Khâny that made my prepubescent heart beat faster. She made blue sexy long before Aayla Secura.

I'm a fan since I was ten or eleven, bought all issues since then and continue to do so.

And yes, Khâny is just as hot with her blue skin :techman:

She has nothing to do with her. Don't let your hate for The Bitch™ cloud your judgment.
