That trailer was a big wtf. They replaced everyone. And Bruce Willis returns playing the guy from Die Hard 4, RED and The Expendables again. *shakes head*
I am not happy that they replaced everyone but I do like the inclusion of Bruce Willis and the Rock.

The order in which actors are listed on IMDB has little, if nothing to do with how large or small their parts are in an upcoming, as yet unreleased film.
They didn't replace everyone, or even all but 1 or 2.
It would be fair to say that about half of the major players returned, half aren't back.

Agreed! I think both Johnson and Willis are a welcome addition to this franchise.
Looks pretty fun to me. I'll go see it. I like that it appears they're following the plot points left over from the first one with Destro, CC and Baroness imprisoned in the USS Flagg (and so out of the way for a while), Zartan's impersonating the US pres and Channing Tatum can't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Firefly is always fun and you knew Stormshadow wasn't dead. I mean, come on. Do wish Scarlett was still in it, but whatev'. Willis cameo and the Rock blowing shit up? Niiiiiice.
I don't know, looks kind of fun and the trailer music was cool, maybe this will be OK.
Wouldn't have a problem with Tatum's "Duke" getting killed off. Heck in some ways it would be kind of an homage to what was *SUPPOSED* to happen in the animated movie from the 80s. Duke was supposed to have died and everything in the movie was animated that way. Then Hasbro saw how the fan reaction to them killing off Optimus Prime in the Transformers movie so they threw some audio into the end of the GI Joe movie to indicate Duke had survived and was ok. Even though he wasn't ever shown because the animation was already completed.
Given that Flint is in it I'm guessing that we're going to see Duke and Flint go at it. I believe they had something of a rivalry in the cartoon. Maybe Cobra Commander will be explained he is a clone or something

G.I. Joe was always a 4th/5th tier 80's property for me. So I'm just famaliar with it to be interested but not so attached to nitpick it to death. This is why I could enjoy the first one one a few levels.
A friend of mine is very attached and swore he'd never watch the first one. However, a mutual friend and I made him watch it this past weekend in anticipation of the new trailer.
Retaliation looks much better and the simply fact that we have a genuine looking Cobra Commander face plate mask is all kinds of awesome!!!
Palicki looks great as Lady Jaye. Curious what, if any, explanation(throw away line or not) that we get for Storm Shadow's survival. There is a line that the Joe unit has been shut down so it sounds likely that those not killed in the strike are under lock down. I agree that Sienna as Baronness was one of the top 3 things about the first film. If it could work, and there is a part 3, I'd love to have her and Destro back. I do think it's also a nice sign that 5 actors from the first are returning for this film. Gives a tighter sense of continuity between the films.
Bruce Willis has top billing on IMDB so is his part bigger than what we saw in the trailer.
This film is now rising in my anticipation list for summer 2012 films. Dare I say it's rivaling Amazing Spiderman right now.

We do not know it is Cobra Commander. Everyone's been assuming. As I said I've read nothing for about casting for CC.
I took that screen shot from about the 1:01 mark of the trailer where he is standing center with Zartan/President and Firefly flanking him on either side while overlooking some type of weapons/vehicle bay in a hanger-esque setting. I highly doubt a B.A.T. ranks that audience and gets to stand center of them.

Destro got extradited to Britain. Baroness is in a medical facility undergoing treatment for her nano infaction.

If we never actually see him or hear him talk, then they probably wouldn't include the guy in the mask in the cast lists.
