Yet Another River Song Theory (Spoilers through AGMGTW)

So having rewatched the first half of Series 6, I have yet another crazy River Song theory.

It doesn't seem fair at all to Amy & Rory to take away their daughter and not allow her to grow up with them, especially if the brief glimpse of them in the future in "The Hungry Earth"/"Cold Blood" is still valid. And I'm not convinced that Moffatt is going to do this. Madame Kovarian is also probably paranoid about losing Melody again; she's created one Flesh duplicate. Who's to say she can't create another one?

So my theory is this: At the end of Series 6, we'll have two versions of Melody; one is created from the Flesh and one is not. One will be raised by Amy & Rory as their baby. The other will become River Song. And neither we nor the characters will know which one is which; the TARDIS will simply stabilize the Ganger into a human (well, human/Time Lord) as it did in "The Almost People". The theft of the regeneration energy will simply end up being part of the ruse to avoid the Doctor's death.

So far, every time we've seen a Flesh version of someone, the original human body stays comatose in a chamber while their consciousness is transferred to the Flesh. So unless they change how the Flesh works, there cannot be two versions of Melody Pond running around.

On a sidenote, I just rewatched "The Time of Angels" yesterday. In the scene where Amy encounters the video of the weeping angel, I noticed that when Amy tried to open the locked door - the door had the same omega-like sign that was on the two big black flags in "A Good Man Goes To War". I wonder what it means?

Er, no. In "The Almost People"/"The Rebel Flesh" the whole point was that the Gangers could exist independently of the people in the containment units running them, if enough power was poured into them.

Uh, Intrinsical, you didn't notice all those Gangers running around interacting with their human (or Time Lord) counterparts in the two-parter? Your objection is moot, I'm afraid.

As others have said, on-screen canon establishes otherwise.

But to be fair to intrinsical, that was an extreme and unusual case. Ordinary Flesh can't operate independently of its template, certainly. But flash-fried solar-stormed Flesh apparently can, especially after it's been magically "real-ified" by the TARDIS.

Only that the same Church-Army organisation is involved in both episodes, which I thought was clearly established anyway. It's just the emblem of that organisation. It's proves that the set dressers are observant and consistent.

Whether the emblem itself is... ahem... emblematic of something else - like a backstory for the Church - has yet to be seen.

.

And the symbol was definitely on the uniforms in "The Time of Angels", something I checked after watching "A Good Man Goes to War".

The door handle is the same symbol, but turned sideways in this open?/closed? position.

You could be right with the theory I can imagine another ganger of melody. Which means in a good man goes to war we pretty much saw a baby killed on screen if it had the same oppourtunity to grow up as anyone else would.

The Omega symbol was also on the Brotherhood's flags. It's pretty much all over the place in those episodes...I've already stated my opinion on what it could mean :)
