My question is

What sort of pen do you prefer to use (colour, make, type etc)?

I prefer to write in black ink, I use ballpoint pens and generally buy one of two brands (Papermate or Bic).

Black Ink (hate blue ink unless it's on a yellow legal pad) Pilot G2 Fine Tip. Has a great ink flow and feels great in my hand. It's a great fit for the amount of pressure I use when putting pen to paper.

I own a box of them I love them that much.

Any pen that you can get from a drug company. They're always nice and thick and usually have a good grip on them. And they have to be clicky pens. Black ink, I guess. Never really thought about it.

Actually, for a while I was writing exclusively in red.

I actually prefer green ink, but hardly any pens use green so I usually use blue instead.

I use ballpoints as fountain pens can streak where I don't lift the nib far enough off the page when moving to a different part of the paper.

I used to use black, now blue. Used Pilot or Artline, now have a Bic 4 Colour, different colours for when I'm editing - and more attractive than having a pocket protector.

I prefer pacers. I had a Parker pacer for 9 years before I broke it. Now I have a generic pacer but I prefer that metallic look/feel over the plastic types.

Other then that I prefer Parker pens, though due to being left handed I often colour the side of my hand to whatever the colour of ink I used.

Goat's blood tends to be runny and parchment doesn't absorb it so well, unless you're really shelling out the money for the good stuff. Human blood is thicker, less runny, but yet still has a good flow.

All my studying is done with a blue fountain pen. Anything 'at work' or jotted down is generally in black, with a Staples Sonix ballpoint (or the possibly infinite number of free pens drug companies produce).

I write in black, edit with red. Most of my pens are those common Bic models that often follow me home from work. I also have a few that I picked up as free giveaways from drug or insurance reps, and several really nice ones that people have given me as gifts.

When money allows, I prefer a Parker fountain pen-- though I have a bad run of luck with them disappearing or being "Borrowed".

As a general day to day rule: Black ball point; Bic stic makes for a good goto. I also have a .07 mechanical I use when I taking notes for a project; though I keep plenty of #2s around for back up. When I'm going to a meeting or out shopping, I have a "tripen"-- has a stylus, pen, and mechanical pencil all in one.

Sort of getting into used a "Pen Again". Does feel better when my joints are hurting in my hand. But it does take a bit of adjust to the feel.

Same here. I really dislike using blue ink. And I always use gel ink pens because they flow nicely on the page and are nice and dark. With regular Bic pens, for example, I am always pressing really hard on the page and it hurts my hand eventually. Also regular ink pens leave those little marks where you lift the pen off the paper...it's hard to explain. It's like the thing that happens with crayons, there is always that little white area where the crayon leaves the paper, you can't seem to fill everything in completely. Pens do that but not as badly. So that's why I prefer gel ink.

Being in media, I tend to pick up quite a few pens as grazie from advertisers, clients, etc. I don't really have a favorite pen or anything of the like -- I tend to just use whatever is foremost in my little pen cup at the time.

For editing and for grading students' papers, however, my thin-line red Sharpie is the best thing ever.
