Yahoo Homes: Anti-Zombie Strongholds

I like the East Sister Island house. It seems like a peaceful place to hole up while the world ends. With some sort of water purifying system and assuming the fishing is good it seems like a good set-up.

^ I like that one, too, but I'd really prefer it if it had easy access to some roof-mounted firepower, preferably somewhat armored. Zombies can't swim, but cut-throats fleeing the Zombie hordes have boats and guns, and that house looks a little hard to defend. The sea-wall would of course work, unless you were approached by boats from two sides, but from the roof you could fire down on the decks of small boats on any side. I'm thinking a Browning .50 would do the job nicely, backed up by a belt-fed .30 caliber for use by the kids.

Of course then you end up shooting Billy Ray and Margarie's boy Tommy, leading to all sorts of freakin' drama, which is why you just keep on shooting at the boats. Who needs more drama in a zombie apocalypse?

I strongly recommend reading "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks and "How to survive the end of the world as we know it" by James Wesley Rawles. I found both quite useful and practical. The Zombie Survival Guide is a fictional Guide but it does contains potentially useful info about zombies. The "How to survive the end of the world as we know it" book is pretty useful for zombie and non zombie Apocalypse.

For zombie outbreaks in urban areas, any high rise building can be turned into strongholds if you can find ways to destroy or barricade the staircases and shut down the elevators.

Army bases and warehouses are good places to head to in case of zombie outbreaks.

Weapons

A good bolt action rifle with a scope for long range.
A semi automatic rifle for controlled bursts for medium range.
A handgun for close range.
A crossbow for ranged silent kills.
An axe or sword for close kills. No reloading required.

Well, she should certainly keep her bodyguards around despite having settled the divorce. If she were to happen to have a mysterious and fatal accident, say at the hands of some overzealous Scientologists, Suri's custody would almost certainly revert back to Tom. And then it's off to SeaOrg!
